So much fun!

This is my first creator expert build. My brother and I played with Legos as kids, and my mom saved all of them. My 3 year old started pulling them out at her house, playing for hours, it became a great way to work with him on fine motor skills and imagination! I've been drooling over this one for a while, I love the fall feel and "books" on the shelves, and my son has been so patient and careful, "helping" me and telling stories. I love that it's two separate buildings, so we can pull them apart and move them around to build between. He built his own "castle" and park for it. Tons of great ideas for future builds!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Librarian/booklover had to build the Bookstore!

This was my second modular building built about one month into my Lego journey. As a librarian and booklover, I had to have a bookstore in my future city! As with all the modular buildings, I enjoy the rooflines and architectural detail. The birch tree with the bluebird are some of my favorite details in this set. I especially like when sets incorporate elements of nature into them. This was my first set that includes multiple buildings in one kit. The instructions were clear and easy to follow.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A very pleasant Lego set

I really like this set. I wasn't sure I would like the teal house because the color is very bright for a townhouse; But after building it and seeing it in person, I like it quite a bit. The bookshop is cool too. All the little furniture builds and mini-figures are awesome as always.
There are only two real criticisms I have with the set, the first being the lack of books in the book shop. I know there isn't that much space to work with, but you would think a book shop would have more books. My other criticism is with the basement in the teal house, I don't like that you can't even stand figures up down there. If they intended it to be a crawlspace, I think they should have put dark grey or reddish-brown tiling down there to make it look more like a crawlspace.
Overall a nice set, good job Lego designers :)

Visually appealing, with lovely colors and a beautiful birch tree in front of the store. Charming home and delightful bookstore; a wonderful way to nerd out as an adult! My kiddo plays with it daily, incorporating into her Lego Friends world. Most builds are deconstructed/reimagined during play after a week or so, but this one is so loved that it has only had a kitchen/living room apartment added to the second level of the bookstore, garden enhanced, and cats added throughout the bookstore. It’s been well loved for several weeks now.

great exterior, disappointing bookstore interior

This is my tenth modular. It's one of the better exteriors and I really do like it. It was also a fairly fun build experience with good alternation between exterior and interior, and some fun construction techniques and not too much repetition.
The disappointment is mainly the bookstore interior. It could have been so good, but it just has so little in it, except for books spines pressed up into shelves. Visit a contemporary bookstore and you'll almost always see tables of books in the middle of the room as well as books on shelves, and you'll see lots of book covers, not just spines. This feels like a really big missed opportunity.
The only interior that is really notable was the main floor of the apartment.

Colorful but not what I was expecting

I knew I would buy this, I was counting down the days when we would finally see the reveal of this series. I am disappointed in the lack of detail and the size of this piece. When you compare it to the previous pieces released, it is sadly lacking. The part that troubles me is Lego experts had to have known this prior to release.
I concern myself with the future pieces of this series. Will Lego be banking on all us building nuts to buy whatever is put in front of us because we have all the previous one's? I knew before I bought this one that it wasn't up to standard, but I bought it anyways because I do have many other sets proudly displayed.
I am trusting Lego experts to get it right next time because I might say goodbye to this set if the challenge and the detail dissolves again.

It's OK... Could have been soooo much better!

The Good:
Bookshop is a welcome change from last year's Corner Garage! Victorian style with beautiful colors. Leaves and tree are different and very nice touch! Some interesting / good techniques with the bay-window and roofline on both buildings.

The Bad:
Where are all the books? I won't belabor this point, further! The placement of the books under the stairs also make it difficult to show people the books. Storyline is poor and uninspiring. Poor accent color choices... the bay windows should have been teal. All the green in the bookshop make my eyes hurt. The teal house only has two floors; was the bed designed for a giant? It takes up half the floor.
