For a long time the Original Death Star set teased me for so long it had very unique and cool mini-figures for its time. Once discontinued I thought I would never get my hands on it, but I finally did! This set has a lot of positives which are great mini-figures, rooms from Star Wars (1977) and Return of the Jedi (1983) and good unique functions. The negatives are the set is a rehash of the original but with updated figures and more expensive, and in my experience not the greatest play value. It is up to you in the end if you want this or not. When you get this (if you do or not) don't drop it when you are done!

As both an avid Lego and Star Wars fan this was huge fun to build. Reminiscing over the scenes in episodes 3-6 whilst building this was great fun reinforced by the attention to detail. The only minor gripe is it would be great to have removable covers for Death Star...

I've been building Lego since the '80s and this is by far my favourite piece. The attention to detail is incredible. It only narrowly beats Darth Vader's Sith Temple or Supreme Leader Snoke's Throe Room which were excellent also. I have not yet built the super star destroyer but can vouch for the Millennium Falcon which was great fun. Keep building please, I'll keep assembling. x

This set is ace,loads of great builds and the mini figures rock,my son loves all the play features so much to do!!!
The price is high but worth it ,just make sure you have loads of space and handle with care.

Great set. Minifigures are all very good and detailed, I love all the play features especially the hangar bay elevator and trash compactor. My biggest complaints are the TIE fighter is too bulky and needs more room for figures and it's awkward to fit a minifigure in the main lift in the center.
