A fun build

I've built several large builds so far and this one has to be one of if not my favorite builds so far. As a big Star Wars fan this set hit all the right points for me, between the build and the scenes it has to offer it was great. It is rather pricy but as a fan of both Lego and Star Wars to me it was worth it especially after it was finished. This set is massive after it's built the pictures do it no justice. The only real con for me on this set was the price point but as I said as a fan it made it worth it. For the most part the build wasn't to challenging but there were some points that did slow me down for a second. This set also came with the best instruction manual that I have seen in a lego set yet, it was very easy to understand. The manual is the largest one I have seen for a set before and is very well printed making it clear. I'm not much of one for doing reviews but this set was so good and has received some negative reviews from some focusing on the cost and not the whole picture that I felt I should write one.

Interesting build and play experience

I bought this set a few weeks ago in the legoland of London, that's very interesting experience to build and, in the end, play in this set. The build took me something like 16-20 hours of work. My opinion, people that done an upgrades of the set of 2008 done their job well. One of the most interesting features of this set, like it was in the previous version, you can repeat all scenes from the saga, but it doesn't hurt to come up with your own scenes based on play with this set. I recommend this set for each lego fan that want to feel something new in their build and just to have fun.

This is the beast of all beasts; the mother of all Lego Star Wars sets in the galaxy! It's obvious that this set is not for everyone and does require a level of commitment to your hobby. That being said, this thing on the whole is an awe inspiring Lego experience. The build is quite enjoyable from start to finish; this is not one of those epic sets that wears you out during the building process. I could go on and on about how cool each element is, but I will keep this kind of general because Lego does provide some good images of this product, and seeing it yourself is far better than my words. Things you can't see is how useful this set is with other sets. The Death Star works very well as an anchor for your Imperial forces. It performs this function far better than it may seem at first glance. The basement level is great for storing cargo canisters and extra pieces of equipment that may come as a side build with other sets and there is a lot of well purposed storage space throughout the entire set for mini-fig accessories. Plus, there is plenty of room for posing a large number of mini-figures without making the place look too crowded. If you have the Imperial Assault Carrier (which is sweet!), that ship's forward cargo compartment (where the extra spring loaded bolts are stored) is built up to the same level as the level 2 armory on the Death Star, enabling some scenarios where you can load and unload the ship while it is docked with the battle station. There is a lot of specific detail already covered in previous reviews, so my review is more intended to highlight the things that are not obvious at first glance. If your heart is set on this bad boy, go for it! Yes, it is expensive, but with a bit of disciplined budgeting you may surprise yourself how quickly you can raise the funds without too much financial impact. Your heart will thank you, the joy this monster will bring you far exceeds the cost. I absolutely love it!

Worth it if you missed out on the original.

I never got around to purchasing the original UCS Death Star, so the chance to get an updated version with new minifigures and more details was definitely worth it.
Maybe a bit pricey for many, it is a must-buy for any Star Wars fans whether for play or display.

Great build and play features

Its the biggest set that i ever built and it was pretty easy . Its a great set but it is pretty expensive and i would advise that your parents lift the death star when complete. Its also bigger than expected so i was pleased with that. There are alot of pieces on each page so double check while building. Overal its really fun to build and to play with.
Ps sorry for my bad grammer, im dutch!

My wife got this for me for Christmas and I love it. Plenty of scenes to create and recreate from New Hope, Jedi and even Rogue One (no rogue One minifigs included, but I couldn't resist adding Krennick to the meeting room with Tarkin). What can I say? I love it. Trying to figure out a way to position it over the Ewok Village build. It was fun to put together and it is fun to look at and rearrange various scenes from Galactic History. Highly recommend.
