this is where he fun begins!

i, like some of these other reviewers, thought that this set was overpriced for what it was, a remake of the older death star, but for someone who doesn't have the death star from before and doesn't want to pay for the original set, which at this point has reached higher prices than this set, this a great set. when it comes to build time, this set is LONG, but since die hard fans are usually the ones buying and building these kinds of sets, its not a problem. i love taking a long time on these sets and in my opinion, that just adds to the play-ability of the set. Once the set is done, however, then that is when the fun begins! with fourteen rooms and 27 different figures, there is hours upon hours of play-ability. i love that there are several of some mini-figures for multiple scenes. the only thing i would suggest is adding more storm troopers. All in all, this is a great set and i would recommend it to any die-hard, star wars Lego fan! it is a great play-set and a conversation piece.

Awesome lego set

This is one of my favorite lego sets. The play experience is really good but sometimes its hard to fit your hand in. But the only problem with this is that the 10188 is the same thing except for the mini figs, and this costs 100$ more!? Other than that reason its a 5 star lego set

A fun but challenging set

This set is big and heavy and took me 4 days to build, 5 hours a day. Now that it’s done I can say it’s a nice looking playset/model. Pretty expensive but everything it comes with makes up for it in my opinion. This was my dream LEGO set to build and I’m glad I did it. Has everything you could want from the Death Star

Really detailed set, and was really fun to play with so many mini figures in this set. I loved how much detail was put into this set, and every room that they added. one thing i did not like was the price of it. Overall one of my favorite sets i ever built.

cool details but MISSING PIECES
on May 11, 2020

There are a ton of cool features of this set. Creators clearly paid attention to detail and thought of clever ways to incorporate interactive elements. Note: I haven't done many LEGO sets in my day nor am I a Star Wars fan so I have nothing really to compare it to. I bought as an activity to do during quarantine thinking that my nephews (3 and 5 year old star wars fans) would really enjoy playing with it and when they get older they could disassemble and re-assemble it.
BUT
I have completed 9/10 sets and so far have come across 3 missing pieces. For 2 of the, there ended up being 2 extra pieces of the same length but not the right width. One of the pieces was just completely missing. Thankfully, my nephews have a creator set with spare pieces of all shapes and colors so i was able to snag them from there, but otherwise, that would have really sucked.
I would think the pieces are all cut, selected, and bagged by machine and weighed as part of the QC process, so I don't really know how pieces would go missing. but considering how much the set costs, it was very disappointing to come across those missing pieces.

Great build and worth the time. Watched SW 4-6 while playing. This set is for all passionate fans of Lego and star wars. I am looking forward to another UCS set and hope Lego makes more UCS sets regularly.

AMAZING set...why so much hate?

This set is awesome. It comes with an appropriate selection of figures with good printing and there are TONS of them. Of course that’s how it should be in this expensive of a set. The build is great and has many iconic scenes with good features and playability. (My favorite feature is the trash compactor and chute.) The majority of the negative reviews on this set complain that this set has no difference from the Death Star released in 2008. Well DUH. Did you not look at the set before you bought it? Haha. I was one who wasn’t able to pick up the earlier rendition, so I was glad to have this opportunity. The one REAL negative is the price. It definitely shouldn’t have inflated that much. However, this is an awesome set, and I would definitely recommend it. It won’t disappoint.
