Good build...

This set is huge... While it wasn't terribly difficult to assemble, it did take a bit of space to put together. The assembly is very intricate and making sure the support structure is correct requires some attention to detail. One off square or peg can cause a domino effect of things being out of whack, so paying attention to the instructions is crucial, but, it is a lot of fun to assemble.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great set, but a little childish

I’ve been wanting this set for years, and finally got it as a gift. I’ve really enjoyed building it, but I have to say I’m pretty disappointed with how it looks. With it open on all sides, it definitely feels more like a playset than a model. With one of this size, I’d much prefer to have something that actually looks like the Death Star when it sits on the shelf. I love all the moving parts and the figures are awesome. However, I really don’t see the point in having THREE Luke Skywalker figures with one set. That seems excessive and unnecessary.
Overall, it’s great. I just wish it was more like a model that can be displayed. At least have a removable outer shell or something.

Great Addition to Collection

This is a very great product! The details in each scene are fantastic and very much appreciated. The large amount of minifigures is real great too, that way you can leave it set up with multiple scenes going on at once. The only hang up is obviously the price, but I saved up for it and am very I did!

A must for Star Wars fans

Awesome set. Built by a family of Star Wars fans. Originally purchased for my 8 & 10 year old boys, but as a fan of Star Wars (I saw the original Episode IV in the movie theater in 1977), I started building sections of the set myself. Each area of the set represents a part of the original trilogy and the detail is amazing. It was a lot of fun to build with my boys who are growing up in the new Star Wars age.

Huge fun to construct, and being "brick" rather then "Technic" heavy, feels like an old-school build. Mini figs are great, the working features improve the play value immensely, the only part that doesn't really work is the Superlaser itself (large clunky mechanism and very easily damaged once built). I have it displayed next to the updated UCS Falcon and although both are impressive, this is the one I enjoy more.

I liked building all of it except when it came to the string parts where it was difficult. I think they could of shown it better in the manuel. Other than that I LOVE it!

Great PlaySet...

This set has always been on my wish list...I finally picked it up a few months ago and had fun building it...and as I was finishing up I realized more and more that it's a more of Playset than a display set.. despite it being labeled a UCS set. I know alot of people are upset about it the mislabeling but there were much worse sets that were labeled UCS that were completely off...this set still has a little display value in it ..just not enough to justify the purchase as a display set...I would still recommend it someone who wants to build a set with their kids and sit back and watch them play with it... it's a fun build with very enjoyable play features...just not a proper UCS set but still better than the hoth echo base set haha

Worth the Wait

This set had been on my wishlist for years now, and with quarantine, I finally bit the bullet and purchased it. I worked on this on weekends over the course of a month which is why the build time is so long. This set was so much fun to build, and has been a fun display item to have out around the house. I like to rearrange the minifigures to have different scenes happening. Some from the movies and some I've made up myself.
Fair warning before building: plan where this will go once complete. The bricks hold together well, but the "facility" gets a little weighty and awkward to carry towards the end of the build.
Overall, I've very happy with the set and glad I purchased it.
