Poor balance

Great Filter, Slow

The only frustrating thing about this (which is also an issue with the 18-cup) is that it takes quite awhile to get a full pitcher of filtered water. You have to pour a cup or two in the top white section, then leave it be for several minutes or more before you can refill that section again.

Will also be buying a lifestraw to drink water whenever I’m out the house now. I’m appalled I was drinking from a Brits before. I cleaned the housing weekly and timely replaced the filters. Look at this difference

Peace of Mind with Great-Tasting Water

This is a nice, easy to use design that filters quickly and provides really great-tasting water from mediocre-tasting tap water. I especially like how many different pollutants the filters are rated for removing, which is one of the main reasons I chose this over other products on the market. Lead, micro-plastics, and dissolved pharmaceuticals are three that I wanted to be able to reduce levels of.
I opted for the glass pitcher to reduce the amount of plastic involved. The silicone base add-on was a good idea that I would recommend given the size and weight of a fully filled pitcher. It helps to cushion the bottom of the pitcher and makes it slightly grippy.
I've only had this for about a month, so I can't speak to longevity of the design, but I haven't had any issues or complaints so far.
The only mildly annoying aspect is that you can't fill the whole pitcher at once with a single fill of the filter reservoir. This is unavoidable with this kind of design: the reservoir has a smaller volume than the filter portion of the pitcher, and being a passive (non-pressurized) system, water only filters until the water height equalizes between the inside of the filter reservoir and the outside portion of the pitcher. Not a big deal since it filters quickly (a few minutes per fill, at most). I just top off the pitcher most times I use it and it's not been an issue.
Overall, I'm really happy with this product and would heartily recommend it to others.
