Stopped working!

I received this as a gift and within 2 uses it did not work! Very disappointing. I threw it out afterwards because it had no usage anymore.

I bought this for my son for Christmas who is an air cadet and wanted it to include in his survival kit. I’m not sure what he is surviving but when he saw this he thought it was necessary! When I looked into it further it looked like a great product that gives back to those in need and I appreciated that about the company.

Does not provide safe water from surface sources

This DOES NOT filter viruses and heavy metals and/or chemicals. The Big Berkey Sport Berkey Bottle Water Filter is a better option in my opinion. The price is higher though. Check it out. I think LifeStraw is ok for outback water sources but not truly safe for the bad stuff that may contain viruses and chemicals, such as an urban scenario.

You are right. Our original, award-winning LifeStraw does not remove viruses or filter heavy metals, and we have not made these claims.
It removes bacteria, parasites, protozoa, and microplastics efficiently.
We have multiple products in our line that reduce/remove lead, heavy metals, chemicals, and even viruses, and if you would like information on these units, we would love to assist!

It stops working!

I bought the water bottle with the filter for a trip. I had trouble drinking from the straw when I received it. I thought that was how it was until I felt wrote to customer service. I received a new filter and still the same challenge. I left it on the shelf until recently I took it to use. Sadly, nothing can come out from the filter. I have to trash it out.
