Broke after 6 months

I have had this kettle for 6 months. It worked great and never rusted. However, I had the experience of at least one other reviewer where the kettle has stopped working entirely. It turns on, the heating light blinks, but it does not heat and eventually turns itself off.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cons: No cons, just suggestions:
1. With electronic base size, it would be nice to include current water temperature indicator, in addition to preset temperature blinking when the water is heating up.
2. It would be nice to have some other than white color choices of plastic components.
