Great set for prepping fruits and vegetables. Use the 5.5" santoku for mincing, slicing, and dicing, and the smaller blade for peeling and detail work. Lightweight with a comfortable molded handle.

I bought this set for my Mom who has some arthritis in her hands. Four Star ll knives made from German Special Formula Steel and forged from one piece of steel so extremely durable. The blade has been ice hardened so it starts sharper and stays sharper longer. The handle is light weight and easy to grip for my Mom.

Great Starter Set

This is a great set for someone learning basic chopping skills. It's a little lighter because the handle is molded not riveted. You're not compromising quality! It's forged from high carbon German steel and made in Germany. It's going to stay sharp and last a lifetime. The santoku has the smaller 5" blade that I've found is easier to "learn" on. The parer is a great parer but can handle small tasks like garlic and shallots.

A great duet from Four Star which includes 2 much used knives - a paring/peeler and a Santoku. Small and larger tasks are covered by these 2 knives. The quality is superb, with the ice-hardened Friodur process, so they are super-sharp and durable, along with being rust and chip free. Knives that last a lifetime and can be handed down.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Four Star knives are popular for many reasons. One of those is the unique molded handle because it is so comfortable and provides a nonslip grip. These knives are forged so they have a sturdy feel and are weighted nicely because they are not as heavy as some forged knives. The Asian starter set is a great way to get two handle blade profiles. The Santoku is excellent for chopping large vegetables and large quantities of vegetables while the smaller paring knife is good for fruits and smaller vegetables. Both are made from steel that will not corrode and retain their super sharp edge use after use.

I love love my Four Stars. Even though the knife is forged this line provides a light weight feel. The fully molded handle is great, you don’t have to worry about rivets coming out over time.
