A great Asian starter set

I bought this knife set for my friend to start off her knife collection and she loves them! The Four Star knives are nice and lightweight, great for anyone who doesn’t want something that can be tiring in hand. The Santoku is a great knife to use for chopping vegetables, meat, fish and with the indentions on the blade, it helps release food well. The paring knife, styled more like the Kudamono, is great for slicing and peeling fruits and vegetables. With the Four Star having a ice hardened forged steel, these knives will stay sharp much longer, won’t be prone to rusting, and will have lasting durability. A great set to build a knife collection or to have a couple key blades in your kitchen.

Four Star II is an extremely well balanced German knife. The molded handle feels secure and smooth in the hand, the full bolster is familiar and the acute angle on the edge will always cut with precision. Made from German steel that has been ice hardened for better edge retention this is a high quality heirloom knife. Add all these attributes into two types of Japanese styled knives and you have the perfect combination.

Perfect 2pc. set, light and comfortable Four Star set. This 5.5" Hollow Edge Santoku knife is not just an Asian chef knife, it is excellent in cutting large food, meat, vegetables, poultry, herbs and fruits. Indention on the blade creates barrier between the food and the steel, preventing food from sticking. It is perfect for a cook who rather likes chopping motion than rocking and gliding knife which this knife will do just fine. This Santoku knife is excellent in mincing, dicing, slicing, and chopping. It looks great and a well-made knife. It feels great and comfortable in my hand, and it cuts great! Along with the 3" vegetable paring knife, everyone loved this combo set. This vegetable knife is great for peeling, and cutting small fruits and vegetables, a handy dandy helper prep knife. A fully forged construction blade that provides balance and durability German-made knife. It is dishwasher safe. Ideal gifting idea too!

5.5" Santoku & 3.5" Kudamono Paring

Great combo for cutting and sculpting vegetables for Asian style food prep. These two blades will make any presentation beautiful; they make peeling, paring and slicing so effortless.
There’s a reason the Four Star line has been a part of Zwilling’s lineup forever. It was designed with professionals in mind, so the focus was on safety, comfort and durability. The ‘grippy’ polypropylene handle is proportionate to the blade and the work - therefore no excess weight. The blade steel and method of construction is proprietary and at the forefront of technology. The blade can both take a beating and hold an edge, ideal for daily use and hard work.
Although dishwasher safe, all knives perform and look better if they are hand washed. I’ve had a Four Star in my collection for decades. And it still comes out for certain jobs. I expect it will be there for a while longer.

Good set for anyone who doesn't like large heavy knives. Great quality, made in Germany forged knives. The santoku is great for slicing and chopping. The paring in perfect for detail work or peeling. Both are super sharp with comfortable handles.

This is a great duo from the 4 star line. Tried and true for over 40 years. Seamless transition from blade to handle. This is a super sharp set. Well balanced and comfortable to hold.
