This is an update on my last review, which has switched from one to five stars. New air sent me a replacement nugget ice maker after the one that I purchased stopped working days after I bought it. I also own a nugget ice maker by another brand. I, hands down, prefer the New Air nugget ice maker because it's just easier to operate. It's design is comparable to a traditional countertop ice maker. It is top loading, so you basically pour the water in and the ice drops in the ice bucket. SIMPLE. I discarded the first five batches of ice as instructed but I noticed that the ice had an aftertaste. I then made an additional seven batches of ice after putting in a vinegar/water mixture and that eliminated the aftertaste issue. The New Air ice seems to be a little softer than the ice from my other nugget maker and although have not done any side by side comparisons, it seems to produce ice quicker.

I have now had 3 units all that last a few weeks , They are EXTREMELY loud to the point of almost blowing up, they just do not function or light says to add water when there is plenty of water in the unit . I almost wonder if they are all refurbed units they send out when i paid for new . The ice production is nice but it won't last long at all . The one positive is the customer service they are very helpful and always sent me a new unit out right away but they all have failed.

I purchased this as a Christmas gift for the family and we love it!! The first one we received was defective and broke so I reached out here on the website and explained the situation and they sent a new one out to me right away with a FedEx label to send the defective one back to them. So with hardly any effort I was able to send back the bad one back and the new one runs perfect! Thanks NewAir for your customer service.
