Better than Sonic!

You’ll have the best ice right on your countertop! Fill with purified water and watch the ice pile up! It literally starts making little nugget ice the first five minutes! Gotta see it to believe it! Only wish I would have had this while pregnant lol it would have saved my husband so much time from going to sonic for ice! So simple to use and very convenient! It also matches my other appliances which is a plus!!

Mold and Unclean

No way to clean the inside of this ice maker, which is perfect for mold to build up.

This is an update on my last review, which has switched from one to five stars. New air sent me a replacement nugget ice maker after the one that I purchased stopped working days after I bought it. I also own a nugget ice maker by another brand. I, hands down, prefer the New Air nugget ice maker because it’s just easier to operate. It’s design is comparable to a traditional countertop ice maker. It is top loading, so you basically pour the water in and the ice drops in the ice bucket. SIMPLE. I discarded the first five batches of ice as instructed but I noticed that the ice had an aftertaste. I then made an additional seven batches of ice after putting in a vinegar/water mixture and that eliminated the aftertaste issue. The New Air ice seems to be a little softer than the ice from my other nugget maker and although have not done any side by side comparisons, it seems to produce ice quicker.

Perfect size

I’ve been using this ice maker for about a week and love it so far. I was worried it was going to be heavy and bulky but it was just the opposite! It fits perfect on my counter, underneath the cabinets and is not heavy at all. Easy to move. Also, the style fits in perfect with my other appliances. The actual machine makes ice in less than an hour and the ice stays available for about two hours after. Love that! Especially in the mornings when I wake up, I can just turn on the machine and by the time I am done getting ready, the ice is ready to be used. Couldn’t have been happier with this product. I live in an apartment so having a personal ice maker is perfect for my living situation.

Love this ice!

A for Effort but doesnt come close to the Opal/GE

Sorry to write such a review, but feel customer should know the exception. Biggest down fall is that it doesn't recycle the water when ice melts. Have to manual restart unit to make ice again. I'm being totally honest, cause I have purchased both units. Hands down Opal/GE knocks nugget ice making out of the park by far. NEWAIR please take your product back into production and make it better.
