Best GIFT ever !

My children bought this for me for Christmas & I am in LOVE! We turn it on every morning and have ice pumping all day long. I even take this machine with me on vacations, I love it that much. There were days I would drive to sonic multiple times a day to get ice, but that’s not the case anymore because of my own NewAir machine! I couldn’t be more happy with my gift!

Awesome nugget ice

I bought my machine in April. I love the nugget ice, it’s my favorite. Although I did have a mechanical issue with my machine, customer service was quick to respond to my issue and promptly resolved it.

Legendary Ice, dismal reliability :(

I've owned 5 of these units. Unfortunately none of them lasted more than 2 weeks before they broke down. The good: The ice pellets are chewy and amazing. The bad: The unit is LOUD, like really loud - garbage disposal loud. I had a new units and 4 warranty replacement units. All of which failed after 1-2 weeks of use. Purchased originally in January 2021, we went through 5 units total that kept failing, screeching, locking up, etc through March 2021. Support was good and easy to work with, but the product seems to have some major design flaws. After the 4th replacement NewEra refused to address the issue any more or issue a refund. After much anguish over the lost $$$ on the NewAir, I decided to purchased a TaoTronics Nugget Ice maker in early April of 2021 and am pleased to report it is extremely quiet - quieter than my refrigerator and it has been working great for almost 3mo.

Broken at the factory

The unit came in the mail Nov 17th 2020. I put water into it after cleaning the unit to start the self clean function. When I push the self-clean function, water started running out the back of the unit. It feels like they need better quality control at the factory. Waiting for an email from them to tell me how to proceed after contacting customer service..

Wasted gift

My wife recieved this as a gift because she loves Sonic's ice. I just unboxed it and set it up. I followed all the instructions and troubleshooting, but it will not start pumping water to make ice. It keeps saying that I need to add water, but it is filled as instructed. I turned it off and removed the water line and it drained just fine. I called the help line in the comments and - wouldn't you know it - no support agents are available. My wife is disappointed and so am I. We can't return it because we never got the gift receipt so now we are just stuck with a heavy hunk of metal.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
