Poor design and technology -do not buy!

If I could give no stars, I would. It has been less than a year since I bought this unit and the digital display that controls the oven has gone blank for the second time. While it is again covered by the warranty and the Bodewell that GE contracts with came out and ordered parts with a promise to get it resolved, the issue remains that i do not have an oven over the holidays. Additionally, now I fear that it will go out again and it will be out of warranty at that time.
Now, on to the design of this unit. It is simply very very poor. I had a GE profile before and did not have this issue but this one is very poorly built as follows:
1. It scratches very very easily -so wiping it down stresses me out as the scratches keeps getting worse and worse. It is less than a year old and see my the state of my stove on the pictures.
2. The little rubber pegs that the grate sits on keeps popping off and not easy to put back and very easy to loose. This makes the grate sit unevenly on the stove.
3. On the front of edge of the stove the two metals overlap and where they overlap -debris and grease gets trapped and very hard to clean.
4. And technology issue of the digital diplay going out twice in a year I have already mentioned.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

GE Profile Range quality NOT there
on January 3, 2026
Posted by: NFL23
The GE Profile Gas Range unfortunately malfunctioned on day one. There is a cooling fan in the rear of the range on the right that makes a loud clicking/buzzing noise when the oven is on. When online researching this problem, it appears to be an ongoing issue that others have experienced. The oven does not stay on and this could be due to the buzzing issue and perhaps this problem short circuited the controls for the oven. In addition you can also see insulation when you look down the vent holes in the back and on the device we got a loose screw was laying inside the back of the range. Perhaps this range is a lemon but we have to go through all the hoops to get service in since it under warranty so this may all resolve BUT just NOT what you expect from a brand new appliance.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We’re sorry to hear you’re having multiple issues with your new range, and we’d like to assist with your situation. Regarding the issue with the oven not staying on, we recommend disconnecting the appliance from power for a couple of minutes before reconnecting, to reset it. Information about what to check if the oven appears not to work is available on page 28 of the manual, linked here: https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s--Ep_UyQZm--/5437ce96292526d3a9f0141e97ee310f62a506c0.pdf

We do expect some sound from the cooling fan as it operates; if that sound isn’t normal, we’re confident a technician will be able to address that as well as any other issues, including the loose screw, the oven not staying on, etc. If you haven’t already set up a service appointment or need to get back in touch with our team, our Bodewell service team can be reached at 833-426-3393. They are open Monday – Friday, 8AM – 8PM ET, and an appointment can be scheduled online as well, at this link: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm
