Forced wifi registration

Love the oven...but GE forces you to use a wifi app through a complex sign up to have access to use your convection roast. Seems to be no work around or reason why...

We know the importance of an appliance meeting your expectations. However, our smart ranges are designed to have certain cooking features accessed through our Wifi-enabled app. If any assistance is ever needed with your range or app, we're always here to help.

Having to connect your range to WiFi stinks

I like the range, but I absolutely hate the fact you have to connect to WiFi to enable certain oven functions. This is nowhere advertised. You get one star because of it.

Oven Cooling Fan Disrupts Burner Flames.
on May 17, 2025

There is a fan that operates when the oven is on. I'm not talking about the convection fan, but another fan that is probably there to cool the unit and prevent the electronics from being damaged. It blows cool air up from the rear right section of the unit and causes burner flames to be pulled towards that portion of the of the unit. The result is you can't effectively use the oven and cooktop at the same time. A mind-boggling design. Pans need to be drastically repositioned (4 to 5 inches off-center from the burners). The fan is not shown in the parts diagrams GE provides. But it's definitely there -- I hear it come on, I see the burner flames being pulled away, and all my pans become unevenly heated. I reached out to GE and they suggested I get it serviced. I'm not giving GE or their contracted repair companies another cent. How do engineers come up with such a thing? The unit has done this since it was new

We are more than happy to provide guidance with this range. The oven cooling fan for the electronic controls is controlled by a thermostat. The cooling fan may run throughout the entire bake cycle and continue even when the oven is off. This is considered normal operation for this range. However, we will be sure to pass this feedback along to our product team for review.

Unsafe product
on October 20, 2025
Posted by: I REGRET THIS PURCHASE
from Rochester NY
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Extremely unsafe performance, serious safety concerns after normal residential use
I purchased this GE range expecting normal, safe performance. Instead, I have encountered multiple dangerous issues:
A screw shot out of the top back of the stovetop with force while oven was in use.
The oven rack sticks and then suddenly releases, even when the oven is cold. This requires force to move and could cause burns or spills when handling hot cookware. I tested all rack positions, the sticking occurs consistently on this level, which suggests a warped oven cavity.
The top surface of the range reached 330°F–378°F with the oven set to 400°F (verified with infrared and probe thermometers). This is far beyond what should be radiating onto areas a user may accidentally touch while the burners are off.
These are active safety hazards in normal daily operation. I cannot safely use this appliance in my home.
I expected far better from GE, and I’m requesting a resolution or replacement immediately.

Your comments regarding the range are important to us and will be considered by our product design team for review. In the meantime, we are glad to assist with the operation of your range. Preheat will signal at about 7 to 12 minutes, when the temperature is hot enough to add food. However with the preheat taking much longer, we recommend turning off the circuit breaker for the range. Wait 30 seconds and turn the breaker back on. This will make sure that the circuit breaker is set correctly and the unit is getting full power. With the unit being newly installed, we recommend having the installer check the power cord or power supply to make sure it was wired to the range properly.

Fancy gas range

I install this gas range today and found all the gas hook up material was all that was needed to install. Installation went very quickly and upon trail run I found all the burners to light and operate properly. I have yet to set it up with my iPhone. There is an app to operate this unit by phone. The front panel operation was what I sought because I didn’t like the idea of reaching over lit burners. Unfortunately the oven light failed after only ten minutes of use.

Very well designed range

This is a well-designed Product. I looked at a lot of ranges and am glad I chose this one at the last minute. Very versatile and spacious cooktop. The fever multi-burners are very useful, especially the middle one. Very good value for the money and looks more expensive than it is. Have not baked much yet but am looking forward to it.

Not very smart

Range itself is excellent, cooktop and oven. My main reason for getting this model though was the connected feature, but you can only use the app to control the oven after you walk over to the range and push a button on it. That's like having to walk to your TV to hit a button before you can use the remote control. It completely defeats the purpose. If that ever changes, it's a 5 star range.
