The perfect gas range

My first gas range and I’ll never go back to electric. Bakes evenly and maintaines exact temperatures. Stovetop is infinitely adjustable. Love it!

We bought a spec house and the appliances came with it. The range was one of those huge industrial style behemoths and it did not have a self clean option. The Profile range has two self clean options; the water method that works on very light soil, and the traditional high heat method. We bypassed other manufacturers ranges that relied solely on the water method. We are already using the 'air fry' a lot and hope to try the griddle soon. The burners seem to produce a lot more heat than our previous range but the controls are much more precise. My wife has no trouble taking the grilles off and on to clean as their weight in manageable. So far, so good.

Range is great, App/Alexa integration are not.

So far, the main issue with the range itself has been that it scratches easily. I mean SUPER EASILY. If you don't put the grates on EXACTLY onto the rubber stoppers (which is difficult since you can be completely on one set yet be completely off the other set!) it will scratch the stove-top. Drop a metal utensil while cooking? Scratch. etc...
The other issue I have is with the clumsy SmartHQ app (it's just so weak), but more so with what I would use more: the Alexa integration.
First, even though the instructions that came with the range say that for Profile ranges you have Alexa learn the "GE skill", you actually have to have it learn the "Geneva skill".
Before you could just say "Alexa, preheat oven to 375", now you have to remember to tell Alexa to tell Geneva to tell your oven what you want (who at GE thought this was a good idea?). So now it's "Alexa, tell Geneva to preheat the oven to 375", which doesn't sound like that big a deal on paper, however, in practice, it's a hassle. I don't have to say "Alexa, tell the Phillips skill to turn on the hall lights", I say "Alexa, hall lights on". Done.
For this silly skill, you have to remember "Geneva", not "GE", not "Profile", not "Oven", it's "GENEVA" - unless you're doing this a lot, you're not going to remember "Geneva".
Again, doesn't sound like a big deal, but it doesn't sound like a "smart appliance" idea either.

This is a replacement for our old profile range and we couldn’t be happier, the old range is going to a family member, and was working perfectly, the new one a lot different features and still learning

I wanted to love this range but after the second time using the oven, it stopped working. I read the owner's manual to see if I could fix the problem but nothing worked. It's Saturday night, the day before Easter and I can not call a repairman. Thank goodness I am not hosting Easter dinner. I read the 2 previous reviews about the same problem with the oven not working. Yes, the stove works great. But as my title states, that is what I'm feeling right now. Will write another review when this is issue is resolved.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Used 2 times and quit working.

I was excited to have a gas range after years of having an electric stove. We just finished building our house and unfortunately I used my brand new stove/oven only 2 times before it stopped working. It fails to heat past 188 degrees and shuts off completely. I cannot use the oven at all and now. Was advised the “mother board control panel” is malfunctioning. Had to wait a few weeks for repair to come out. They’ve ordered a new board and said it “hopefully” it will resolve the issue. Bummer part is that it is going to take several more weeks to get the part. Then will need to reschedule another visit. So hopefully I will get to use my née oven/stove more than 2 times after waiting 2 - 3 months. I should have read more reviews before purchasing as I am now seeing this is a very common issue. To say I’m frustrated is an understatement. Regretting this purchase.
