Cooling pad not needed but recommended for intensive hardware demanding gaming and work related use. Out of the box it comes better than expected with minimal configuration changes needed which are all related to Windows 10. More than adequate mid-range gaming/work laptop if you want better for gaming you should really be buying a tower and not a laptop. You get more than what you bargain for at the best possible price point and the 170gig storage after compression doesn't bother me as I prefer to use portable drives anyway as they are better in my experience than built in hard drives. The design is very sleek and light-weight with decent internal speakers and loudness and a more than decent monitor with good HD visual capability.
It's a good ultra-slim laptop with not so great screen and some configuration issues out of the box. I'd say good for the price, otherwise I'd give it 3 stars
The good: Light, thin, small bezels, decent quality webcam, fast CPU.
Not so good:
The description promises WVA (wide viewing angle) screen but the colors change within very small angle off the center
The laptop won't wake up from hibernation, instead you may have to hold power button to force power down. Sometimes I couldn't get it on from sleeping state for several minutes. Not fun at all when you've just found out you're late for a zoom meeting. Probably fixable with updates and power savings configuration change
The GPU seems slower than expected but needs more testing. Second memory stick probably can improve it. Nothing in configuration says Vega10 as description promises
There are 2 slots for SSD but one of them may have no bracket. I have not opened mine to check though
My laptop was dead on arrival. I immediately contacted Dell and after running diagnostics with Dell support, it was determined that motherboard needs replacement by Dell technician. It's been 8 days and I am still waiting for repair to be scheduled...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello, Raza,
Thank you for your response and feedback. We understand that it is imperative for your laptop to run at it's best. We apologize for the current experience, but below are steps to run a hardware diagnostic test that can assist in making it run better.
1. Restart your Dell computer. 2. When the Dell logo appears, press the F12 key to enter One-time Boot Menu. 3. Use the arrow keys to select Diagnostics, and press Enter key on the keyboard. 4. Follow the on-screen prompts and respond appropriately to complete the diagnostics. 5. If the test fails, write down the error code and validation code. -If an error code appears, either: - Use Dell Interactive Support Agent (English only) to get information about the ePSA or PSA diagnostic error codes. Enter the 1000-XXXX or 2000-XXXX code into the search bar at the bottom. - Browse to the SupportAssist Pre-Boot System Performance Check page to get more information about ePSA or PSA diagnostic error codes.

This is the fastest laptop I have used yet. It turned on in less than 10 seconds. Also it is very quit like a library. With the powerful Ryzen processor this laptop gives an amazing performance. I am very happy to invest on this laptop. Thank you Dell.. Keep producing this kind of good products in future.
I am really pleased with this purchase. Slim, light, fast to boot up, great key pad, fast link to the internet, great key pad with a button to switch the key pad light on and off...great for working in different levels of light. Well worth the money!
Excellent laptop, fast startup and shut down, laptop switches on just by lifting the lid. I'm impressed with the display, watching a recent football match the colours and definition were really good. It is light in weight compared to my previous laptop. Not encountered any problems even other people's complaint above visibility of the keyboard have not been a problem. I would recommend this laptop as excellent value for money.
