Ease of use is only a 3 due to the water fill on carafe is not easy to fill, also the single serve brewer holder hinge tore after first use the "K" cup splatters unless a tall cup is used.

Love the idea that you can make a pot of coffee or a single cup. The only downside is that the way the cover is designed makes it hard to pour water in the side with the coffee pot.

Have had this brewing system for about 3 months now. We love it. Usually the convenience of a single cup brewer works for our family, but there are times when a larger volume is needed. Cleans well, filters are easy to replace. Very satisfied with this purchase as we are with all our Cuisinart products.

The overall design and functionality is very good, and it produces an excellent cup of coffee. It is especially nice to have a 12-cup machine that actually brews 12-cups. And the coffee maker is very quiet, relative to devices that I have used in the past. However, the machine (at least mine) has two issues:
1) The clock gains about 5 minutes a week. This is incredulous in today's world of inexpensive precision timing devices, and requires that the clock must be reset periodically in order to have the program brew coffee on schedule.
2) Many K-cups have a positive pressure (a higher internal pressure which causes the tops to bulge upwards). Upon closing the single-server brewer lid on such K-ups, the piercing device occasional induces a large tear along with the hole. This results in coffee grounds being ejected upwards and out of the enlarged hole during the brewing cycle. The resultant mess under the lid is difficult to clean up because of all the nooks and crannies contained therein. The way that I avoid this is to pierce the center of the top of each K-cup with a pin (to equalize the pressure) prior to insertion into the machine.

Got this as a Christmas present. It worked just fine, but about every week controls insisted that the coffee maker needed cleaning. After fourth week began trying to get warrantee replacement. That took all of February and first week March. Warranty replacement now in and operating. Runs fine. Brews excellent coffee, even with less than stellar coffee grounds. ,
