Good, not great. The top needs to open further to allow emptying the carafe of water without spilling. It otherwise makes a very good cup of coffee, does so quietly m, and is pleasantly intuitive to use.

Set at night and hot coffee waiting in the morning when I wake. I like that the temperature can be adjusted. I like that it comes with permanent filter basket although I do use the paper filters as well, just my preference. Single brew is wonderful for flavored coffee when everyone wants something different.

This is a decent coffee maker. The POD part can be "splashy" and once in a while the ground side will have a "boil over" but it makes a great tasting, fresh cup of coffee compared to filtered coffee makers.

Comparison to last Cuisinart pot - not as good.

We have had many Cuisinart coffee makers. With this one, the water does not completely drain into the pot. Water remains in the filter and the coffee is weak; OR the filter area allows coffee grinds into the coffee pot. It's the extremes. We have adjusted the pot - the filter - the level of water and the amount of coffee grounds, still the issue persists. I am on my tiptoes to pour the water into the reservoir too- I am 5'2". Our last pot was the pour-over Cuisinart with the burner issue. We loved that one even though it was only 8 cups. I couldn't stand the nasty burner any longer and replaced it. This pot brews slower also. Still - Cuisinart is our fav and when this one goes, we will replace it with Cuisinart due to the features the pots have and the programmability.

Single brew to dual (drip pot or single brew)

So far since I have switched from a Keurig machine to a dual machine (drip pot and Keurig) I am a little disappointed that you have to turn the entire machine off manually. You can set the drip section to shut off after a period of time but the machine is always on unless you turn off the button on the side. Otherwise it seems like a nice machine.
