Love this new coffee maker that allows us the ability to brew and entire pot or one cup at a time. Easy to setup and begin using with many great features. Only feature missing that I wish it had is a way to silence the alarm when the coffee is done brewing. Sometimes one just wants to enjoy coffee in silence and not wake everyone up to disrupt my “me time”.

The only thing this coffee maker is missing is the ability to make a large to-go size coffee using the single cup maker. The single cup needs to include a size for a 12-16 ounce tumbler/travel mug

I like the option to be able to brew my coffee with freshly ground coffee or a single k-cup. I tried a less expensive combination brewer, that Mr Joe DiMaggio would not be proud of. However, this Cuisinart brewer is solid-for the most part. There are a few design issues; 1) When you lift the lid over the brewed grounds at anytime after brewing, even after several hours and everything is cool, you will get water that runs down the back of the machine. Not cool! 2) Pouring water into the reservoir is challenging. There's just a small area on either side at the back to pour the water in. The lid gets in the way. So if use the carafe with 10 cups of water to fill the reservoir you might be able to get eight in. Even if you use a Dixe cup, you can't empty the cup. Not a big issue just annoying. The lid should have opened from the side, right to left instead of front to back. It would have also been easier to clean up the water from the side instead of the back that runs down the machine when opening the lid - see 1) 3) Biggest issue I've had is with the low water sensor. There is magnetic disk in the reservoir container (for the k-cup section) that is supposed to float with the water level. When the water level falls, so does the disk. When the magnetic disk is away from the internal magnetic sensor, the add water light comes on. Add water and the disk is supposed to float up with the water. Once it reaches the area of the internal sensor the add water light goes off. My issue is the disk in my reservoir container DOES NOT float. It isn't binding in the channel, it moves freely, it just does not float like it is supposed to. So, with a full container of water and the disk sunk to the bottom, the add water light comes on and brewing a single k-cup is impossible. I contacted the company and was sent another container. I haven't used it yet because while waiting for a resolution, I taped a magnet to the back of the container that holds the non floating disk in place to keep the add water light off. So far it works as long as when adding water it's done so gently or the water stream will send the disk to the bottom of the container. Then has to be moved back in place with a magnet. While talking to the customer service person, I learned this model has been discontinued. I wonder if it's because of the magnetic disk/low water sensor system. As I said, other than these issues it's a solid machine and definitely makes better tasting coffee than Mr Joe DiMaggio.

I’ll start with pros. The drip side makes good coffee as expected. I like the bold feature and it works. The unit looks good and doesn’t take up more space than it needs. That’s the 2 stars. Cons: The opening for adding water to the drip side is small and awkwardly placed. If you’re short or have shaky hands, it will be difficult to pour in without spilling. Most important to me, though, is that the 6oz setting on the individual cup side puts out 8 oz. It means that I can’t get a strong cup of coffee unless I brew a pot. It’s in the box for return.
