The thing was obviously designed for a left handed person if the 12 cup pot is the side you use most, it’s very difficult to pour the water in because the lid doesn’t go back very far, I’ve just found it difficult to use.

I usually love Cuisinart coffee makers. I have had two of them prior to this purchase. Both of them lasted at least 10 years and made delicious coffee everyday. I also have a Keurig that I received as a gift, which I enjoy using once in a while. When it was time to replace my regular coffee maker, I decided to get this maker so I could eliminate one appliance from the counter. The regular brewed coffee side of this maker worked great, but the pod side did not. Standard Keurig brand pods did not fit in the pod holder properly, and no matter how I closed the lid, the top needle did not poke the top of the pod, so whenever I tried using pods, water would pour everywhere and no coffee was brewed. I ended up returning it. I haven’t bought a new coffee maker yet.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Pouring the water into the maker is hard to do without spilling water down the side of the coffee maker. There are 2 small areas to pour the water in and when I do, the craft hits the cover for the grinds. Frustrating.
