This is a tried and true design that brews a consistently excellent pot, or cup of coffee (tea, hot chocolate, etc). The design has been improved since we purchased our first Cuisinart coffee brewing and hot water dispensing machine, many years ago.

Make sure to seat the Kcup into the well before you close the lid to avoid puncturing a very large hole in the foil. This will cause coffee grounds to wash into your cup making a big mess.

This is a great coffeemaker and makes wonderful coffee but, unfortunately, the carafe is poorly designed. Somehow, the rim holds water and, even after drying the carafe thoroughly, water leaks out on both the inside and outside when putting it in an upright position. Somewhat maddening.
