Received this coffee maker as gift. Two problems I ran into: required descaling after two weeks of use. According manual it should be 3 ton6 months of operation. Very poor design to put water from included carafe to reservoir. Bad angle, small opening. Very expensive unit as most Cuisinar products. They are not necessarily better quality than other manufactures have.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I’ve had this machine for about a month and it’s been great! With several coffee drinkers at home there are no more wasted pots.
And K-cups comes in a lot of coffee flavors and brands (plus hot Chocolate).
This unit does pots and single cups, and replaced an 8 year old machine that only did pots. I wanted to upgrade.
