Goal Zero’s newest Yeti 1000 Core is a compelling product to counter lower-priced competitors. The biggest advantages between the Yeti 1000X, Yeti 1000 Core, and Jackery Explorer 1000 can be summarized as follows: * Goal Zero Yeti 1000X – Most professional, but higher-priced - Larger AC inverter to accommodate higher-powered appliances, super-fast charging at up to 600W (including solar input up to that level), quality components, and Tier 1 LG battery cells - Capability to be extended with additional batteries, vehicle integration, and whole-house emergency power * Goal Zero Yeti 1000 Core – Best value for price and power - Mid-sized AC inverter, fast charging at up to 300W (including solar input up to that level), quality components and Tier 1 LG battery cells, and lower price - Capability cannot be extended * Jackery Explorer 1000 – Lightest and lower-priced - Smaller AC inverter, lightest, good components and BAK Battery cells, good charging at up to 200W (including solar input up to that level), and lower price - Capability cannot be extended
Great overall battery system and it was a fairly good fit for my needs but…. If I was able to find more info about this battery prior to purchasing I would have stepped up to the 1500X instead, but there were limited reviews and videos available on the 1000X. Also I purchased this in a kit with a boulder 100 briefcase. Which I found to be severely disappointing with charge times with the 1000X. For the cost on 1 boulder 100 briefcase I was able to purchase a portable 400 watt panel setup which is far better and LIGHTER. Than the GZ kit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought mine in May 2022. Now it can’t seem to charge up past 89%. Each time I use it I seem to lose on how much charge it will take. Actually now it won’t charge unless something is running on it. Then it only charges normallyt for a few minutes then slows to a trickle. Take the item off running on it and charging stalls. Just goes on and off but doesn’t charge. 89% seems to be my 100% now. Hoping I have some kind of warranty still.
I do a lot of night astrophotography. It's a good amount of gear, running throughout the night into into the morning, usually 12 - 14 hours at a pop and often in the cold. I've had the Goal Zero 200, the 300, and now the 1000. I've found each to be useful and dependable, but the 1000 by far is the workhorse. Batteries don't do that well in the cold, but the 1000 finishes a session well above 25%, and my equipment draws a good amount of power. I couldn't be happier. Too, it's great for general purpose clamping into dark skies country. This rig is the backbone of my night sky work. Bravo.
Great backup to our house generator for my wife’s medical devices which she cannot do without on a daily basis. Had a problem figuring how to buy the solar charger at your cost-very expensive.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have had my Yeti1000 for a few years. Sure I have used it off the grid. But the best use is to have it charged when the power goes out at home. Keeps my refrigerator cold, provides light and powers either my fan or heater depending on the season. Truly makes losing power manageable. Best investment.
We needed to have backup power during wildfire season and also have power for off-the-grid camping, on a limited budget. The Yeti 1000X plus the Boulder 100 Briefcase is a fantastic solution. It ran our big home refrigerator for over 14 hours without needing recharge and easily cooled our camping frig in 2 hours. An added bonus is that both components are light enough weight for us to carry them as we get older. Here's to more adventures!
This unit does not disappoint. This is my second Yeti, I have the 500 as well. I had a slight charging rate issue with the 1000 but Gavin in customer service took care of this right away. That is in part why I gave 5 stars.
