Great cast iron plates with a but...

Great cast iron plates with a but, it does the job that claim on the description, so far no complain about the plate. The concern is about how safe is the wood base? Well the pictures you can see are the result of one single use, wood was literally setting himself of fire, the board, since it is not a single piece of wood, is falling apart, the single part are glued and have separated and bended. So if you are asking me, should I lift the plate using the board my answer is NO, unless the plate is cold and you don't mind the risk of holding one part of the wooden base while the plate with the rest of the broken base falls on your floor (it is heavy so be prepare for a damage on the floor). It is a fancy wooden base ideally only to avoid damages on your table, but never use is to transport or lift and pass it around the table. If that base brakes you will end trying to hold a cast iron plate that was at 500 degree celsius. not a nice experience

Excellent quality, sadly too heavy for my husband to manoeuvre but ooni were very generous and we have gifted it to our daughter who has just purchased an ooni oven and they have very successfully cooked steaks on it and loved them. We purchased a smaller one

I followed the instructions to season the Grizzler, but when I used it, the food stuck to it and When trying to clean it, I couldn't get all the food off.
I re-seasoned, again following the instructions and the same thing happened. For the price I paid, I was expecting this to be much better quality

Great but...

The grizzled plate is a quality item and very sturdy. I've used it a few times now to cook meat and veg in my Ooni oven. The handle attachments work well but caution is required to ensure they are fully engaged.
It would have been a 5 star review but the wooden resting board completely warped (it now rocks rather than sits) making it quite unsafe to use :-(
