I only give this new HP Envy Ryzen 7 notebook a 4 star so far since I haven't had the chance yet to fully test drive it. I am preparing it to be my prime machine, replacing my 4 year old HP Pavilion x360 notebook. And I intend to replace the 256GB SSD with a 2TB SSD, giving me lots of space for my software and data while running it at top speed. I had already purchased the Ryzen 5 version of the machine as a graduation gift for my grandson, who started college recently. And he just loves the capabilities of this 15" ENVY.
Have been using this for less than a week but has been the best laptop I could have ever gotten with this price point. An absolute beast that could only be better by adding a thunderbolt port
I was always hesitant to by a laptop with an AMD processor, due to perceived build quality, but took a leap based on reviews, and am happy I did. This laptop performs very well, build quality feels good, and feel that this is a really nice laptop, feature wise, for the price paid. My only disappointment is that it doesn't have a function to limit battery charge level, like I had on my Lenovo Yoga. I checked the BIOS config and the Battery Care Function is not available. Wish this is something HP would offer on consumer laptops.
I am testing the Laptop right now everything looks good except 2 things. 1- the fingerprint sensor is not fixed properly (photo Attached) 2- I am using Arabic Keyboard and during the purchasing process was no place to include these special requirements.
I received this laptop about a week ago. I love it. It is light weight, fast and reliable. Only drawback is the backlit keyboard turns off to quick and there is no way to adjust it.
I'm a high school teacher doing distance learning on Google Meet, which hasn't yet updated to include a Breakout Rooms feature. To put my students into small groups, I have to start 8 additional Google Meet sessions and be present in all 8 simultaneously to supervise. My new laptop effortlessly allows me to be in 8 video meetings at once and tab through them with barely any lag, which is amazing! The HP tilt pen is also super fun to use and comes in handy for teaching as well. Very satisfied with my purchase.
