How to fix the retractable roof
on July 19, 2018
Posted by: Igors
I really like this set and James Bond. I found the stickers annoying. The roof kept on getting caught on the white 2x1 with the lip on the front of the roof. I fixed the problem by replacing it with two 2x1 flat tile pieces and sticking them in the center. I am also having problems with the bullet shield not retracting with out physically positioning it with my fingers.

Hey there! Thanks for your review. I've just tested out the set myself, and the roof will work the best if you pull the mechanism in one smooth motion. It may get caught if you pause while pulling or don't pull hard enough.
There may also be something a little off in your build, which would also explain why the bullet shield is giving you some difficulty too. If a piece isn't exactly in the right place, it may cause the set's functions not to work as expected. A little rebuilding should do the trick.
If you'd like a hand troubleshooting the build, you can always get in touch with us at LEGO.com/Service.

Best Creator Series vehicle so far.
on July 27, 2018

Lego have excelled themselves with this product. I was excited from the first marketing glimpses. VIP membership enabled early access to the model.
Building was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, especially seeing the innovation that has been used for the bond gadgets.
Design of this vehicle was excellent. A great display peice, but also great for children to play with.
It will take pride of place on my shelf alongside the mini and the VW Beetle.
Well done Lego.

Every Bond Fan’s Dream come true

I would be lying if I said that it wasn’t an aggravating build, but it is well worth the aggravation. Had to disassemble the ejector seat and the bullet shield a few times to get them working properly.

The names Bond..

It's perfect. I have A LOT of Lego. Complicated, simple and brilliant sets that I've collected over the years, but none are as perfect as this. It perfectly blends fun, creativity, authenticity, and Lego all together in one perfect package. My only gripe with it is that it doesn't have a Bond figure, other than that, this might be the best set Lego has put out in years.

"I never joke about my work, 007"
on July 19, 2018

"007, we've received intelligence that Auric Goldfinger is planning to rob Fort Knox. Now, we know you're accustomed to driving the latest cars, so we're going to provide you with an Aston Martin DB5 featuring all of the usual bells and whistles from Q Division. Just one problem, though: you'll need to build it yourself"
The Aston Martin DB5 is an extremely fun build to put together and has a surprising amount of play options, which means it's much more than just a display piece.
In terms of build, it took me approximately 5 hours to build (in one sitting, allowing for a break). As with most sets, you establish the moving parts early on in the build. I found the elastic band section (which controls the Ejector Seat) to be a little more fiddly than usual, but once the surrounding pieces were in place, it wasn't too much of an issue. It's a robust and sturdy build: weighty enough to feel substantial but not too heavy to detract from play.
Play-wise, there are many options available: the aforementioned Ejector Seat is controlled using the rear bumper, opening the roof on pull and ejecting the seat on release. Additionally, the gear stick inside the car controls the front facing machine guns and the exhaust pipe raises and lowers the bulletproof shield at the rear of the car. Some of these features are a little stiff, but they're reliably designed and not difficult to use.
The only slight negative I have is that the elegance of the car it is based on is a little lost in translation to Lego, featuring far more angles than are present in its real-life counterpart. Don't expect a 1:1 recreation of the DB5. That said, it's a striking design that certainly evokes the classic car and 007's unique features give it a unique feel.
Overall, I'm really impressed with the set. A (somewhat) lengthy, but straightforward build and quite a few play options mean this is a must-have for any globe-trotting spy enthusiasts. Excellent.

Fun build but has flaws
on October 24, 2018

Like any Lego it's fun to build, but there are aspects of the kit that seem rushed in design. Like others, I've found it near impossible to get the machine guns to rotate out of lights, the pop up bullet proof shield is very sticky and hard to raise, As something to own and display however it's a great kit, very satisfying to build and the instructions are brilliant, especially with all the history and sketches. Biggest thing that I don't like is the price! The VW camper is a far better designed kit and £50 less! And would have loved Lego to include a James bond minifigure, even though it wouldn't have been to scale, it would have been a first and a great addition

A must for any Bond fan and a Lego first
on July 21, 2018

As a kid I would recreate James Bond locations and. Chicles with my Legos, but nothing compares to this set. For the first Lego James abound official set, this is the perfect choice and they did not scrimp on the details. A bonnet that opens to show a detailed engine, working doors and boot lid, revolving number plates, and an ejector seat; I’m not joking 007. As both a Bond fan and a Lego fan, I hope this is just the first of a series of James Bond Creator sets.

The most "Technic" Creator build I've experienced
on July 18, 2018
Posted by: bk0n3
This build is special. I'm a Technic fan, and enjoyed this Creator build more than others in the series. I appreciated the 007 options on the build, disguised with Creator cosmetics. The price to part ratio is justified. Great design; get it.
