Great BUT...
on March 3, 2019

This is indeed a beautiful set with ingenious design to incorporate the bond car gadgets. The set was easier to build than expected but a pleasure to build.
The BUT is for the panel above the ejectable seat at the top of the car which has a different texture to the rest of the outside body of the car: it is rough vs the smooth glossy finish of the others. I can't believe that this was a planned feature and it really totally ruins it for me. I'm going to ask if this can be replaced with a matching gloss panel.

Awesome experience

All I can say is that this was a fun build. The amount of detail in this build was amazing, it looks like there are a few Bond fans at lego. After finishing the build I spent around 20-25 minutes playing with the different features, this is truly for the Bond fan.

Great set

Getting LEGOs for Christmas is a family tradition, so I knew which set I wanted this year. I love all the little extras that this car has (flip up headlights etc.). They are perfect for a James Bond car.

Terrific fun

Bought this as a bit of fun for myself. It's a great build, about 5 hours total over several evenings after the Lego kid was in bed.
For an outwardly symmetrical car, there actually is little in the way of repetitive building steps. The various gadgets, including the bow machine guns and the ejector seat are fantastic.
Definitely a solid recommend.

Special Bond

As I’m writing this, gold finger in on the tv. Husband thought this car would be a great build. Since he doesn’t build legos and I’m more into the architecture series, this was a joint effort. The advice I’d give is to go slow and double check, because it is a bit difficult to correct an error, of which we had a couple. The car came out great, everything worked and it was fun to try all the special features. We had a great time working on this. Only thing missing was a Bond figure but I’m working on one.

Great model with a few design flaws
on October 23, 2018

When I saw the set I just had to get it. I loved the features that were cleverly hidden inside the car.
However, there were a few (easy to solve) design flaws that needed addressing before the features fully worked.
1) The raising rear window shield sometimes got stuck in the up position. This was fixed by replacing two 1x2 plates with 1x2x2 corner plates.
2) The raising / sliding roof was front heavy so it got stuck in the 1x2 slide plate in the front of the opening. I had to move that support plate on the door side and add some weight to the rear of the raising roof.

Thanks for your review. Sounds like something in your build wasn't quite lining up as it should. I'd recommend double-checking that all the pieces are in the exact position shown in the directions and that everything is pressed together tightly (except any gears, which need some room to turn).

Pay attention 007

This model is stunning - Q would have been proud. The detailing is exquisite from the chrome bumpers and front grille to the wheel hubs and engine bay. The retracting roof and ejector seat is so clever and impressive in itself, but there's so much playability too with the revolving number plates and front headlamps/guns, bullet proof shield, hidden telephone and dashboard radar. The build is quite intricate and does require attention as I found I made a few mistakes along the way, but the end model is sturdy and beautiful to look at. Let's hope we get to see Lego make the Lotus Espirit from the Spy Who Loved Me in the future!

Just Wow

I personally love it. I build it with me daughter and it was an enjoyable experience. Love the idea of rotating license plate guns and ability to open doors etc. Dont want to give away all the fun. Build explore and enjoy. Thumbs up. The only thing in my opinion that could be improved is the slight “boxiness”. Hey. Need little positive criticism;)
