Licensed to Build Indeed

An incredibly satisfying build - especially for the cost. Lots of wonderful additions that make each section of the process a positive experience. Launching the ejector seat fo the first time made all of us in the house cheer.
Only critique I can give is, I wish it could have come with a 007 mini-figure. However, that is a very small complaint for an excellent, high-quality set.

Great Build

This was an excellent build with many rewards for the time spent. I took several days to build the bond car as I was in no rush. The build was a challenge and kept me interested. Instructions were easy to follow. The ejection seat was a great addition and the interior of the car was well defined. I also liked he detail in the motor and the overall look of the car. Value for the build was great, finally a reasonably priced LEGO build. I recommend this build. Have fun and build on!

Mission, Accepted.

First off, I was so excited upon the License to Build announcement that James Bond would be joining the LEGO franchise. This model is accurately shaped and detailed, with liberal use of shiny chrome trim. The designer used some challenging and interesting techniques to create shapes and connection points that were just fascinating.
The interior detailing, and the actions built into the vehicle are extraordinary, though the play value is low; this is decidedly a display piece. That said, the thoughtful design in not only the mechanics, but in hiding the mechanisms within the vehicle is nothing short of inspired.
I have a single - though significant - complaint with this model, and that is that it did not come with any minifig representation of Bond himself. To me, this is clearly the Sean Connery era vehicle (though it has appeared with other actors). At the least, it should have come with a minifig of MI-6 quartermaster, Q. I'd say the same about the fantastic model of the Saturn-V rocket; it should have come with minifigs of the astonauts, like the Women of NASA set.

The Ultimate Lego/James Bond Fan Hybrid Model!

Never written a review here before but felt compelled to share my excitement and praise for such an awesome set. I have been a fan of 007 almost as long as Lego and when I heard this Aston Martin model was coming I couldn’t wait - needless to say I am not disappointed!
From opening the box, through building the model to writing this, I am sat with the biggest grin on my face; the attention to detail and the thorough thought in the packaging, instructions and fully-functional gadget elements (yes, they actually work!) is mind-blowing.
I don’t want to give too many specifics or spoilers but a mix of Technic and Creator techniques make this a suitable challenge for any builder incorporating multi-directional pieces, elements and connections to achieve the classic curves of the DB5 and working mechanisms contained within.
The designers have achieved something Q himself would be proud of and, in my opinion, should be knighted for services to Lego Fandom.
Congratulations - Mission Accomplished!

The working gadgets are really cool!

It was interesting to build, but what made it really fun was the working gadgets! When I first made the ejector seat fly out I laughed! It was such a cool surprise to see how well that function works! When I was a child I bought a diecast Aston Martin car with the working functions and played with it a lot. I'll be doing the same with this! Thanks LEGO for a really fun toy!

Fantastic build, brilliant mechanics hidden all around the build, ejector seat and roof work phenomenally well, did not expect to see the 2 part trebuchet work that way. Headlight machine guns work faster than I can see them switch. All around every detail has obviously been thought of thoroughly and the construction all around is solid, I'm not at all worried about this falling off a shelf. The bulletproof plate coming up from behind the rear windshield is the only assembly that gets sticky...The trunk has a tendency to catch the corner of it when closing and vice versa, easy fix by switching the angled blocks to have a single on the corner instead of a double. All around great build! Next up I'm building a car hoist for this and the cooper....

Great Fun

This was my first build ever. However my twin sons have built 50 or more kits over the years. I thoroughly enjoyed building the kit. I panicked at the end of step one because I had extra pieces. I'm sure I installed everything so I ask the kids and yes Lego sometimes puts in extra pieces. Only recommendation would be to add in a character to sit in the car.

Awesome build!!!

My son led me to the web site for this great build and I bought it in the first minute I saw it. An excellent build and fairly complex. I have 3 other cars from Lego and about 44 architecture kits in my collection. I have been building for only a couple of years, but enjoy doing these kits tremendously. The features of the car are as close as you can get in a Lego model. I even like the movable "bonnet" where you can see the motor. I only has a small issue with the front bumper and the movable license plate. I found that the pieces fit together but were a little bit too long causing the headlight/guns not to move all the way. I checked for construction and all was right so I filed down the blue connector and it works great. otherwise it is a fine example of Lego engineering. The added "License to drive " card sent to me was just a fun bonus.

Response from LEGOBy Emily, Customer Service, August 22, 2018
Oh no! We definitely wouldn't recommend filing any parts. I know you've double-checked, but it's highly likely that something's still off in the build. The headlights should be moving smoothly if everything's built exactly as shown in the instructions.
In cases like these, we always recommend taking that section apart and rebuilding. Our Customer Service team is also happy to help troubleshoot. You can reach us at LEGO.com/Service.
