A fatastic model and build. Have been waiting for Lego to bring out a model from the Bond franchise for years. Hope it continues. A Creator version of the MI 6 building would be fantastic which is one of the most recognised building in London and is also known as the 'Lego' building for its unique design and build. Hope Lego consider this?

A FEW TIPS AND TRICKS!

WHEN BUILDING THIS SET THERE ARE A FEW LITTLE TRICKS THAT YOU NEED TO LOOK AT THE INSTRUCTION VERY CAREFULLY TO MAKE SURE YOU DO IT CORRECTLY. WHEN PUTTING TOGETHER TIGHTEN PIECES SO THAT IT LOOKS MORE SMOOTH LIKE THE ACTUAL THING.

This model has been long awaited for me as a builder, I really enjoyed the model and the challenges it brings with the build. I spent half a day building up to Bag 4.
The only minor issue and it is minor is that the steering wheel does not align center to the driver seat. This is a small small issue.
I think that some of the speed dials could have been different, and that the radio could have had some detail other than the brick used.

Superb Model Aston Martin DB5

Excellent build quality and all moving parts work perfectly. Take your time separating all colours of pieces and sizes and follow the booklet carefully. If I had one criticism, it would be there is no James Bond character or "baddie" to eject from the car? Why not make a series of Bond 007 models to add to this DB5? I know many people who would buy the series.

Incredible build

It's probably been about 15 years since I've picked up a LEGO set, and I had honestly forgot how much fun they are. My wife convinced me to buy this set during our trip to Disneyland. Instructions were crystal clear, and everything worked as it should. My only complaint being that the headlights get stuck fairly easy and it makes transition to the machine guns difficult. I built this while working overseas to occupy my free time, and it was so much fun.

A Nastolgic Blast

I’ve help my 3 grandsons with legos for several years, always enjoying the time with them, but also the challenge. My last time was a 6 weeks ago, working on the most complex truck yet. Got me to wondering if I would enjoy more complex figures solo, so got on amazon and found the “adult legos”- perfect for someone experiencing a second childhood. I chose the Aston Martin because I lived the Bond years, always looking forward to the next movie. It was truly a blast, providing a challenge even with the clear illustrations. Completed it over 3 weeks, when ever I felt like working on it an hour or so. About the only thing the original did that the lego model doesn’t is shoot an oil sick out the back, which proably a good thing. I’m hooked; can’t wait to show my grandkids, but will have to wait till they are old enough to see the original in Goldfinger. Only disappointment was the lighting kit, which was bought thru amazon. The instructions said the wiring was fragile, so I was carefull, but both wires to the second headlight come out before I could install - ridiculously fragile in my opinion and not repairable. So beware of the lighting kit.

Thanks for your review! It's great to hear that you've had a wonderful time building with your grandsons.
The lighting kit you mention is not a LEGO® product. While a third party has created it to be compatible with this set, it's not something we've made or endorsed. You'll want to get in touch with the seller directly for any issues you've had with it.

Mixed feelings

This was my second vehicle build after the red bus. This was much harder. The internal extra tricks made it a challenge and don't work all that well anyway. The end result, compared with the red bus, was underwhelming. Perhaps due to lack of expertise, I found that the model tended to fall apart at times when a little extra pressure was needed to push parts into clips. Irritating and involved backtracking and deconstruction. Learned a lot ab out the build process form this one.

Thanks for your review! I'm sorry to hear you found this one a bit more challenging than expected.
If your set is coming apart or the functions aren't working as expected, that could be a sign that something's just a little off in the build. Sometimes if even just one piece is a bit out of place, it can throw things off. A little rebuilding should give you much better results.
