The wood block was well made but the slots are standard and not customized to fit the set you order. The smallest knives were very loose in the slots and that presents a danger in my opinion. Returned whole set.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The size of the slots allows for enough room to remove the Knives in and out of the Storage Block safely and to keep allowing airflow around them therefore no bacteria can grow.
