A beautiful and useful addition to our kitchen. For many years I made do without a Dutch Oven. I Substituted a roasting pan with aluminum foil cover. Made my pot roast in the new Staub Dutch Oven last week. What we have missed, juicy, more flavorful and easy breezy clean up ... thrilled with this purchase.
This Staub coq au vin does it all and rarely leaves our stove top. The heat capability of the pan is amazing - heats up quickly and evenly, also stays hot for hours. It has self-basting spikes on the interior of the lid which collect and return all moisture back into dish - nothing dries out and the food stays moist. So versatile - I can fry burgers in the pan, the searing capability of the pan is amazing, but our favorite dish to make is a roasted chicken, perfection.
This is a great shape to prepare a coq au vin, Chicken in wine! with the oval shape the veggis fit nicely all around the bird. the chicken is equally spaced all around the pot so no risk if the cast iron providing too much heat in some area.
This is a great coq au vin cocotte. It is perfect for feeding a family of four. It slow cooks meats to perfection thanks to its' self-basting lid which locks in moisture. The turquoise is simply exquisite and is truly a statement piece.
This Coq au Vin Cocotte is beautifully designed and built to last! The lids design creates an internal baster, and constantly releases liquid back into the meat. You can cover your cocotte with the lid and safely put into your oven up to 500 degrees. Believe me, once you use this cocotte you will be amazed at the meals you can create and will find a reason to use it as much as possible!
This coq au vin is so versatile. I barely put it away and I pull it out again. The heat capability of the pan is amazing - heats up quickly and evenly, also stays hot for hours. It has self-basting spikes on the interior of the lid which collect and return all moisture back into dish - nothing dries out and the food stays moist. I often pan fry burgers and steaks in the pan and the searing capability of the pan is amazing. The pan can go up to 500F on or in any cook surface. We often use it on our BBQ for an additional heat source with no problem.
This cocotte gets a lot of use in our house. It makes soup, it steams, deep fries and we even cook burgers in it. My favorite thing to make in it is roast chicken. The heat capability of the pan is amazing - heats up quickly and evenly, also stays hot for hours. It has self-basting spikes on the interior of the lid which collect and return all moisture back into dish - nothing dries out. The black matte finish in the interior of the pan helps caramelize and crisp chicken skin - so yummy.
I love this Staub cocotte! My daughter gave me this cocotte for my birthday one year and I have been using it ever since! That was over 10 years ago and it looks like I just took it out of the box. I made the signature dish in it this past Christmas and it came out beautifully. The dark enamel inside is perfect for browning and then the spikes on the underside of the lid are perfect for braising. The spikes collect mositure on the lid spikes and drops them back down into the cocotte for self-basting. My Coq au Vin came out tender and the sauce had reduced perfectly.
