Wider 6-quart for Bigger Braising Bottom

Heavy duty cast iron heats quickly and holds heat longer than most. nice Southwestern shade of orange with li'l spikes beneath lid for distributing moisture all over.
Best cocotte ever!!! I love the color and it is perfect for any kink of meal you wanna prepare in it.

Multi-purpose Piece

Because the cast iron holds heat well, this is a great pan to prepare and serve baked beans, vegetable casseroles,and pasta dishes. It also works well to serve chilled salads. The shallow style is useful for self serve purposes, like a tailgate or picnic event. Does a great job heating and browning vegetable dishes.

great size with an awesome knob

I been a fan of Staub for some time. As a seasoned cook I love using enamel coated cast iron. None of the hassle from traditional cast iron. No need to season and much easier to clean. The shallow wide shape of this piece is great for braising. I can hold a lot but also increase the surface area for great reduction of my sauce. The pig shaped knob is so much fun. Ive always admired the different shapes.....now i have one of my own.

Best cookware ever!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] You can not beat the quality of this cookware! I’ve had my Dutch oven for less than a week and I’ve used it 3 times already. I love that it can go from the stove top straight to the oven. This is the ideal piece for braising just about anything.

Braising, Sauces, and Stews

Looking for a braiser with a little more height so it could also be used for sauces, stews, and even stocks. This pan with the shallow side, is so versatile that it can do all these jobs and more. Use for the best baked macaroni and cheese, makes a fabulous cheese sauce without scorching, and then perfect to bake in and serve from. Great investment, and will last a lifetime.

Better than competitors

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My favorite feature of Staub cocottes is the drip top lid. This feature is what makes Staub stand out the most compared to their competitors. It allows for the release of condensation on the bottom of the lid, leading to better flavors in your dishes. Truly a must buy product. P.S: this shade of blue is incredibly easy to match with neutral tones in your kitchen or home.
