This oval cocotte can be used to make soup, steam, braise, saute and deep fry. I love to make fish stew in it during the holidays. The pan is a great size for a big family meal. The heat capability of the pan is amazing - heats up quickly, evenly and retains heat for hours, perfect for a holiday meal.

Love the dimensions of this pan, it is perfect for stews with large meat pieces, think braised beef short ribs or osso buco. The cocotte heats up quickly, evenly and retains heat all the way through the cooking process. It has self-basting spikes on the interior of the lid which collect and return all moisture back into dish. The grenadine color is gorgeous and would be a lovely addition to any table.

Best pot in the kitchen

Amazing quality, everything I prepare turns out beautifully. The 7 quart capacity is great for larger portions and the fact that it's an oval allows longer cuts of meat to feel more roomy inside. The pot heats up evenly even on a round burner.

This pot cries out for a whole roasted chicken , but I have roasted a leg of lamb, and roasted veal shanks to perfection. This strong, well built pot will be your favorite pot to use for years to come. Stove to oven to table!!!

Staub's enameled black matte interior is optimal for braising and browning. Lids with continuous self-basting spikes make for tender, moist, and flavorful dishes. This 7 qt oval cocotte is ideal for larger recipes and portions of meats.

Use this all the time when cooking whole chickens and pot roasts. Also like it because it's oven safe so i have an option for stovetop cooking or in the oven. Serve right from this beautiful looking Cocotte
