Can Accomodate a lot!

The 7 qt oval cocotte is a great choice because it can hold a lot. It's a perfect size for roasts because of the oval shape and is roomy for big quantities of soups, stews, chilis and casseroles. The black matte interior coating provides superior browning and easy clean up. I just cleaned up mine from a cheesy mess and the cheese literally wiped away easily with soap and a sponge...no worries about "seasoning" the interior it doesn't need to be so you can use soapy water for clean up!

Staub is incredibly beautiful with it's pottery-like finish and brilliant colors. It exceeds anything I've ever seen. Grenadine is a rich, deep burgundy that blends in with every table setting.
I've owned Staub pieces for over 10 years and I can tell you they are extremely durable both inside and out. Mine have been bumped, dropped and had every type of utensil used in them and they still look almost new. They are truly work horses in my kitchen.
The interior is the best feature with a lid with "dimples" that creates a rain forest. You get incredible flavor even with short cooking times. The black interior doesn't stain, craize or scratch and browns beautifully. Roasts, soups, stews or bread come out perfect every time. What could be more perfect for your Sunday family dinner than to serve it in a beautiful pot.

Can’t Live Without It

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Cocotte and cannot live without it. I do everything from coq au vin, roasting, stews and pretty much anything else. It’s in heavy rotation at home and it is one of my favorite cookware pieces (the other is my 4qt Staub Cocotte). It’s an investment piece that is worth every penny, and it looks beautiful on the stovetop.

I love this size and I love this shape especially for roasting chickens or baking a boule of sourdough bread. You have enough room to add your vegetables in with the chicken, which is a huge plus. For baking bread the cast iron is perfect because it conducts heat so well, and retains the heat. The spikes under the lid collect moisture and self-baste whatever dish you are baking or roasting in the oven, all while it is cooking, so almost like you have an extra hand! You get to take all the credit though! Bread does come out perfect when baked in a staub and your chickens will come out juicy and golden brown.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Oven safe up to 900F/482C without lid, Lids are oven safe up to 500F/260C. It's unique, interior matte texture results in exceptional browning. Meal prep for the long haul or impress your dinner party guests with a meal in this beautiful blue 7qt oval. The self-basting spikes on the lid promise the most flavorful results and the heat distribution and retention of the cast iron interior will keep your food warm for those wandering back for second helpings!
