extremely bad without explanation

worked fine with 6s, 7 and 8 plus. Now with Xs Max it stopped working. “not compatible” belkin states. Literally ALL other chargers I own (more then 6 and most also aftermarket) still work fine charging the Xs Max. Very coincidentally belkin is releasing a new version that will be “compatible”, which some are offered at a whopping 20% discount ( <- yes sarcasm). I believe belkin should release a very detailed technical explanation as to why this product is no longer compatible and why it can not be fixed. However this is probably a prime example of build-in obsoleteness. Would not be surprised if this leads to a class-action in the US. Wish that was possible in the Netherlands.

Charging issues with iPhone Xs

I've had a charging stand for nearly 6 months now. After recently purchasing an iPhone Xs, the stand no longer can charge the phone. Every few minutes the phone stops charging, and then ten seconds later starts charging again. I wish I could post a video of how ridiculous this is. Overall, the product worked well for an iPhone 7 but DOES NOT WORK for the new iPhones!

iOS 12.1 fixed nothing!

My wife and I both have these next to our bed. We both upgraded to iPhone XS when they first came out. Like everyone else, our docks no longer work with the new phones. I was holding out hope that iOS 12.1 would fix the issue but I didn’t. Now it’s just an expensive Apple Watch charger. I am sure once my new watch shows up in a few weeks it probably won’t charge the newest version of that either. Funny how every other charger I own works just fine.

DO NOT BUY THIS DOCK!

Belkin does not stand behind their products!I understand that this is a premium priced product, which was fine because I was planning on using this dock for a long time. Unfortunately, this product is NOT COMPATIBLE WITH ANY OF APPLE'S NEWEST IPHONES, including the XR, XS, and XS Max, even though they still use the lightning connector. This is absurd! All of my other accessories use the lightning connector work fine, but this one is now a useless paperweight. If this was a cheap knock-off product, I could probably let this go, but for this to happen to a premium priced product with the "Made for iPhone" designation sold at the Apple Store is unacceptable. Belkin should stop selling this dock immediately and replace it with a compatible product for ALL iPhones. You've just lost a customer!

Great idea

Finally I can charge both the iphone and apple watch without cords cluttering up the night stand. There is 1 major flaw and that it is NOT possible to charge the apple watch in night stand mode. Night stand mode is one of the great features of the apple watch and I miss not being able to use this feature on this Belkin product. If I am missing something here please let me know. I gave this rating 4 stars because of this otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

Magnificent Product - Example Of Great Design

If you own an Apple Watch and an iPhone 6 (or newer), then buy this, you will not regret the decision.
Pros:
- Charges both Phone and Watch quickly.
- Provides own power cable.
- Base is just heavy enough to keep it from easily sliding off nightstand/desk.
- Well thought out design: Even Otterbox Commuter series cases can fit on the stand and charge.
- Aesthetically pleasing.

Conclusion
All in all, this is exactly what companies should be doing with phones and smartwatches: self-powered and paired. The base could be heavier or have some sticky nubs for the base to prevent movement, but that's about the only way to improve this product, and that's minor, minor stuff. I'd love to see an Android companion made in this way, with a USB-C connector, but there's too much variation in Android watch design to provide watch charging. This is one of those accessories that makes it a difficult decision to switch from Apple, because it cannot be easily replaced.
*On The Power Adapter*
I purchased this product initially through Apple in January 2016, but I had a problem: the power adapter whined. High enough pitch that it kept me from falling asleep. Well, this problem occurred through three iterations of exchange, and finally, in April, I got a replacement power adapter that cut out the whine.
I gave some time for issue to occur again, but it's been great so far. Belkin worked with me, listened, and solved the problem in only a couple months. When we're talking fabrication, product lines and all - I have to say it went quickly all things considered, and it really helped form an extremely positive image of the company.

Loved it until recently

I have had mine for a bit over a year. Loved it up until about a month ago. The dock charges my watch perfectly, but will not charge my phone anymore. It registers as charging immediately, then stops working after a few seconds to a minute. It seems as if iphone put out an update that interferes with the chargers compatibility. Please fix asap.

It was good...until this.

This was a great dock for both the iPhone and the Apple Watch... I bought this about 10 months ago and recently upgraded to the iPhone XS that uses the SAME charger as phones supported on this dock, but it wont charge. Belkin acknowledges this but only way they will make it right is to send back the faulty unit for a discount on the new one.
Not the best situation to get into.
