Cools the air as described. Live in a dry climate and the evaporative cooler works by blowing air throught the wet filter. Using Ice packs or cold water makes it even cooler. Several speeds and quiet mode along with timer feature. Excellent for reducing static electricity in dry climates due to the humidifying effect.

I love this little unit, but.....

I It is time to get the cooling pad out to clean it. I can't get it out! I got the grill off, the back, okay, but the cooling pad won't come out. If you guys can tell me how this can be done, so I can properly clean it, I would appreciate it. Other than that, it is a wonderful unit. If NewAir support sends me an answer and I can finally get the pad out, to clean it, I will definitely give this a five star rating!

Great features

I enjoy the fact that it is portable so I can move it where it's needed most. I previously had a window unit that was in one end of the house, so the air didn't reach the far end where the bedrooms were. I also like the idea that I don't have to vent it out a window.
