An okay build, too expensive

The build was nice and the overall product and figs were great, however where this set falls flat is the price. In no way should this cost as much as it does

Purchased it for my 10 yr old who built it within 30 minutes. He found it boring to build.
He plays with the sets he builds and found it frustrating that General Grievous kept breaking apart even when the figure was left inside the ship. Had to convince him it was a lego set and not a knock off.

LEGO set 75286 - General Grievous's Starfighter gets a bad rap on many review sites. Mainly it's the cost per piece which brings its average rating down. Well I wanted to try and boost its reputation up a little because I think this is one of the better Star Wars LEGO sets out there. It's an extremely attractive ship with lots of unique (or at least uncommon) pieces to give it a sleek shape. The ship is bigger than it looks in pictures, so don't be fooled there. Also, it's extremely sturdy and weighs a decent amount, it feels great to hold and "fly around" in your room. In addition, the General Grievous minifig is simply jaw-dropping, incorporating lots of unique pieces. Four lightsabers for the win!
It's just a beautiful, medium-sized LEGO set with many uncommon pieces and some stellar minifigs. I had no problem whatsoever with the relatively high price tag.
I would recommend this to a friend!
