The Best Version Yet, But With Issues
on August 7, 2021

Like everyone has already said many times, it’s overpriced. Not as bad as all the one star reviews would suggest, but it is overpriced.
I think the real problem is that no one will forgive LEGO for this because they phoned in the minifigs. If they had been made with care, like at a minimum accurate, there would not be this absurd level of hate towards this set.
It’s strange because LEGO has to know by now that if they simply add at least one more army building minifig and or give us a unique high quality minifig that we will mostly ignore being overcharged for a set.
Stop shooting your self in the foot LEGO, obvious cash grabs don’t go over well with your adult hobbyist fans.

Good, but not worth the price

This is a very good looking set.
10 year old me would have died to own this thing when I actually *played* with them, and 21 year old me likes having it on my bookshelf.
However, it's very over priced and I am very disappointed in the fact we got a recycled Obi-Wan Kenobi figure that makes no sense for this set.
His clothes got burned on Mustifar AFTER Utipa, not before.
As a fairly new collector this is very disappointing, as I already own a mustifar figure after buying, well, the mustifar set.
There's nothing inherently bad about the set itself.
But "back in my day" this was enough money to get a massive Slave 1 with like 6 rare minifigures, and inflation hasn't gone up THAT much.

Not Much Value for Price

The set itself is wonderful. The price however is not, rather it's more of a rip off more than anything. The Obi-Wan figure is just a cheap grab and place from another unrelated set, just wish Grievous was tan instead of white, and for the airborne trooper it would've been nice to have a new Cody figure. All-in-all the set itself was a fun build and it looks great, but for the price you're paying it is not worth the buy.

Looks nice, but disappointing

To start, the MSRP seems bonkers. This set breaks the expected cost based on piece count model that we've come to expect, but it is worth pointing out that many of these pieces are less common, or are pieces commonly found in other colors. I can understand the set commanding a higher than expected cost based on piece uniqueness, but I still think the MSRP is too high. I would bet that the cost of the set is based on the the general 'spare no detail' design and the Minifigs included.
About the Minifigs - they are pretty cool. It's tempting to justify the purchase if you don't already own a Grievous Minifig, or for the new clone trooper, or if you don't have this particular Obi-Wan. But the cost is just too high - this isn't a great set to buy if you only care about the Minifigs. I was surprised at the skin tone of the clone trooper's head - most of our clones and stormtroopers are a few years old, but the head here is darker than I expected. It is a nice distinguishing feature - or maybe we just missed the switch to that tone.
So, the starfighter - it's a nice enough vehicle with several well thought out design features. The engines are connected via Technic pins, so they can be dismounted easily. Each engine has a sliding door to store lightsabers, and the sliding door has a satisfying click when closed so you know it's going to stay put. Likewise, the rail-mounted canopy has a solid click when fully open, and it doesn't move around [when fully open]. Where it gets very disappointing is when the canopy is closed - there is nothing there to hold it closed except your hand. Unfortunately, this makes this model a poor choice to zoom around the room - descent throws the canopy open, and you may have to unclick it to close it again. Forget about the General performing any evasive maneuvers, because he's likely to fall right out of the starfighter if he goes inverted. I included a picture of what it looks like when the nose of the starfighter is pitched down.
To finish - there are some neat pieces here, some good design, and nice Minifigs. However, it's on the small side for a pure display set, the canopy/cockpit design makes it a poor play piece, and the high price is off-putting. In my opinion, this set is best suited for completionists who buy every set from each release cycle.

General Grevious... always got the epic stuff

This was a cool set and I like how it looked on my Separatist compound, yet it looks awesome by itself too. A bit pricey, but worth 97.843545736285836% of every penny.

Very entertaining

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am currently running a virtual learning center at my house for elementary to high school kids to do their school work virtually ( because of Covid) whilst thier parents go to work. I give them in turns to play with this snowspeeder daily after completing their school work . They you love it. They go ballistic when I put it out, They don’t ever get tired of doing it over and over. It’s been a month and a half and they have not gotten tired of it. It is challenging but they happen to put it together real quick. It comes with lots of colorful small parts. ( I am make sure I give it to the correct sudden age group) . It is small but very easy to sanitize as I have sanitized it daily. I have an autistic 15 year old son, who puts it together every Saturday. He loves it also. I love it too cause it entertains the kids for me whilst they awaits their parents picking them up. I would definitely recommend this product. Even my husband (42 years) was the first one to putt it together and he stated putting it together was like a stress reliever for him.

Great looking set but terrible terrible price for what it is. Not mentioning that the obi wan in this set isn't even the correct one from the scene of the set.
