I bought this and when it turned up I was very exited. Building it was quite fun, especially when it came to building the engine. Some bits could have had a slightly better design, but overall it was very impressive. I downloaded the CONTROL+ app on my iPad, and it worked brilliantly. This Volvo is definitely an extremely good set, with every little detail included. I am very happy, thank you very much LEGO!

INSANE Hauling Capacity!

My thoughts are very similar to the rest of the five-star reviewers, but the best and craziest thing about this set is it can haul Lego's BIGGEST Lego set (the Colosseum) and still move!

Volvo hauler

I enjoyed putting this together and having a background in mechanical design engineering (retired) i have enjoyed the lego technic line. I only had one problem with the set when i loaded and tried to set the controller on my ipad i found the dump control moved forward. I could not get the box to lift or lower. I took the chassie apart and had to reposition the shift cam from what was shown in the assembly manual and now everything works. I am not sure if it shifts from 1 to 2 but that is ok. I am satisfied with the kit and still give it a good rating.

Volvo lover

Had many volvos in my life dating back to 1967. Ordered my volvo 6x6 two minutes after midnight on the 24th of August knowing from past experiences (lego sian) that if wait too long they will be sold out. Started putting the 6x6 together today. It's a challenge for these old shaky hands but it's keeps me mentally sharp and helps improve coordination so for me these new kits are good exercise and very therapeutic. The intricate design of these is excellent and challenging and I'd recommend it highly for anyone looking for a challenge. Worth every penny I spent.

Best set ever

I still can't believe the price point on this set, for the amount of bricks and the motors, the steering servo.... its a crazy cheap set, the bang for buck here is really sharp and I will probably buy a couple more of these sets so that I can build a couple more and run them around the house with the kids. The build was fantastic, I had just finished the Land Rover and was very upset about it, I mean swear off LEGO upset about that awful build, but this Volvo set is Redemption! The set builds very solid and straight, the transmission and gears are no-nonsense. Everything has a purpose and is very solid and supported. This set has a 3 speed Automatic transmission. THIS SET HAS A THREE SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION!!!! why don't they say that on the box? It's a surprise my friend, I just let the cat out of the bag. The steering servo gave me a little trouble at first, not gonna lie, I was a little bummed out for a minute there, but I contacted LEGO support and the sent me a new one. Just like that. I was able to change it out pretty easily from the bottom of the front build and it works flawlessly now. The controls and sound on the phone app are top notch and I have driven this thing all over the house. You can load stuff in the back and dump it out like a teddy bear or a bunch of ping pong balls, those are fun. It drives fast enough to not be boring but no so fast as you want but then it's a huge dump truck not a race car. Oh and the transmission works 3 speed forward and reverse, I can't say enough how solid the build is, if the Land Rover had had this chassis and transmission It would be heaven.

I love this Technic set, looks and acts like the real thing, as usual I was super alert not to make any building mistakes and everything worked fine the first run, even the app ! My first Technic set many years ago I made a few mistakes, had to take it apart almost to the beginning, OUCH ! But I love everything about the Volvo Hauler, combined with my Liebherr Excavator, it is “LOADS” of fun for hours and different scenarios. I even purchased 48 golf whiffle balls to use as cargo, it’s easier for the excavator to pick up and load into Volvo. Recommend this for all LEGO Technic fans!
