[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this to replace a small rice cooker that served us well but it was time to upgrade. And what a great decision! I love that it can cook a variety of rice well (brown, jasmine, etc).
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my rice cooker/warmer over a month ago and absolutely love how quick the rice cooks and keeps the rice warm for those who eat later.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this brand since the year of 2000, The rice cooker is excellent, keep rice warm and never spoiled and cooks very well. I used this Zojirushi rice cooker to cook white rice, mixed brown/berry/ white rice also to make porridge. When I had my baby, I used this as well to make my homemade baby food with all kind of grains and cooked very well. My babies grew up with this product since they started to eat soft food. The rice cooker last super long since my last baby was born 2010 until now, I am still using the rice cooker and works very well. I loved this brand, From rice cooker, the water warmer with auto boiling back then, the food storage warmer for their school lunches, bottle water
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My mother had 2 different brands of Japanese rice cooker when I was growing up, the Zojirushi one always gave the best results. When I got married, my husband and I requested a zojirushi rice cooker as a wedding present 21 years ago and it still makes the best rice today.
I did not like how you had to soak the rice for 30 minutes before cooking. Even when I followed the instructions, sometimes the rice would come out well and sometimes it didn't. I had to buy a different one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the rice cooker. The conventional rice cookers require a bit more work to get perfectly cooked rice. They are a great starter rice cooker or for someone who is looking for a minimal appliance without any bells and whistles. For the best results with this rice cooker, make sure to follow the water measuring lines and not use the knuckle method when cooking rice. The rice has to be allowed to soak before switching it to cook and after the rice cooker is done cooking, it needs to steam for 15 minutes. Our Micom models would be more in line with what you are looking for and will automatically soak, cook, and steam the rice. We have a model that will fit everyone's preferences!
