The unit does not seem well put together. There is an increasing crack/crevice that just doesn't add up.

Another unhappy customer here. After 4 years, it started building up ice like others. I cleaned coil and filter, but it worked only for a day without ice.

Hey there! We're truly concerned to hear you're experiencing ice buildup with your LG refrigerator after four years, despite your efforts to clean the coil and filter. Ice buildup often indicates an issue with the defrost system (like a faulty defrost heater, thermostat, or sensor) or a sealed system problem. While cleaning can offer temporary relief, these underlying components usually require a technician's assessment. We want to investigate this thoroughly for you. Please send us a direct message @LGUSSupport with your refrigerator's model number, serial number, and original purchase date. We're committed to helping you diagnose and resolve this together. ^ Diego

Not dependable

Worked well for 3 years, now all it does is frost up. App diagnostic says everything is fine. Seems this unit is known for dying after 3 years.

Hey there. We are concerned to hear about your experience with your refrigerator. We understand how frustrating it is when a major appliance starts having issues after just three years, and that is certainly not the dependability we want for our products. We hear you loud and clear regarding the "frosting up" issue and the unhelpful app diagnostic. We would like to personally look into your case to see what options might be available to help. Please send us a direct message on social media to @LGUSSupport with your refrigerator's model and serial number. We can then investigate the specific warranty on your unit and find a path forward for you. We are committed to your satisfaction and are here to help. ^ Diego

Disappointed in icing on coils and failure of unit
on August 14, 2025

I have had my LG 5o Pint Puricare Smart Dehumidifier for approximately 3/12 years. I was happy until 3 months ago when my coils began icing over. I thought it might be that my basement was 65 degrees, so we set the air conditioning to 76 degrees for the whole house which yielded 72 degrees in the basement. No change in the icing.
I have always kept the unit clean, but cleaned the filter, vacuumed the coils with brush attachment, reset the unit. No change.
My unit still begins icing over the coils at the bottom, and if I keep the unit running, it continues going up the coils. I do not let the occur, and unplug the unit overnight., and have tried for two weeks with no improvement. The compressor runs, but the unit does not take any moisture out of the air.
Very disappointed in what I originally thought was a great product. I use the pump to empty and that works great when it had water in the bucket, but that's no more.
