So far, my daughter is loving her phone. I'm an Android guy myself, so I can't speak much to the performance. It's light-years faster than her iPhone 14. Definitely has a much better battery life, which is what I was wanting. Of course, it takes great pictures as well.
I am not receiving all text messages on the iPhone 17 Pro. Contacted to hekondesk and was told to restart phone. Reinstall app. Neither worked.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi, thank you very much for sharing your review about the message‑delivery issue on your iPhone 17 Pro. We’re truly concerned that you’re unable to receive updates or stay connected through text messages. We understand how essential reliable communication is, and we know you expect a much better experience from your iPhone 17 Pro.
To help get your messaging working again, we’ve outlined a few steps you can follow to ensure your device is correctly set up to send and receive both iMessage and SMS/MMS messages.
1 — Enable iMessage
iMessage must be turned on for messages from Apple devices to reach you. Settings → Messages → Toggle iMessage ON
2 — Turn On SMS and MMS Messaging
This ensures you can receive messages from Android devices, group chats, and multimedia messages. Settings → Messages → Turn on “Send as SMS,” “MMS Messaging,” and “Group Messaging”
3 — Check Send & Receive Addresses
Your device needs to know which phone number or email should be used for messaging. Settings → Messages → Send & Receive → Select your phone number and preferred email
4 — Update Carrier Settings
Carrier updates improve network connectivity and messaging reliability. Settings → General → About → If prompted, tap “Update” We also recommend restarting your iPhone afterward.
If the steps shared above don't work, please don't lose hope. We are ready to go the extra mile for you. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us for further assistance: https://www.att.com/get-support/
Not much of an upgrade. Screen freezes constantly. Siri rarely acknowledges my voice, and when it does, it often starts, but then just stops listening. Phone is supposed to have improved temperature control, but the magnetic batteries cause it to get extremely hot. Never had these problems with my 16 Pro.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there, thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry to hear the iPhone 17 Pro hasn’t felt like an upgrade and that you’re encountering freezing, Siri issues, and heat concerns—especially compared to your previous device. You may want to try these troubleshooting steps:
Restart the phone to clear temporary software issues Install the latest iOS update (Settings > General > Software Update) Check Siri settings and re‑enable “Listen for ‘Hey Siri’” Remove magnetic accessories temporarily to see if heat improves Close background apps and check available storage
