[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been buying HP computers for years and have never had to get repairs. I have a laptop from 2008 that is still in service...

My first time with AMD 7 and Radeon Graphics. I was always going with Intel and Nvidia. But now I actually prefer this and I'm glad I chose the HP Omen 30L to use it. I was always buying other products before and I forget that HP is actually a better computer than the others. So far it's been AWESOME! Thank you!!!

Looks as good as the day pictures online, runs well and I haven't had to many issues playing modern games on it. I just wish it had more memory 500ish gb isn't a lot by today's standard anymore, especially whenn sone modernn games take up 50-80 gb each.

Good performance for the money with many flaws

I7 10700K, RTX 2080 super. 4 stars on build quality and performance for the money, 1 star for the software included and implemented.
Performance is slightly better than spec due to the factory overclocks on the graphics card to 1935mhz, and processor overclocked for all 8 cores at 4.7ghz. Was impressed with that, however my only major complaint is the graphics card overclocked as such needs a better fan speed settings profile to avoid reaching the temperature limit. Graphics card temps at 82C fan speed is only 70%, but 84C is the temperature limit and once it reaches the limit it uses 100% fan speed which is quite loud. Really any speed over 60% is quite audible, but its intolerable if it goes from 70% to 100% back and forth off the temp limit every few seconds when heavy gaming. I used MSI afterburner to set a custom profile to keep temps under 77C to prolong card life and allow smoother fan speed transitioning.
The Omen app is very slow, clunky, and lacking common sense features such as setting profiles based on time of day and doesnt have an option to use specific separate profiles for idle and gaming. You have to set all this manually, and quite clunky and time consuming to create profiles. Although being able to set rgb color gradients based on system statuses from GPU/CPU usage/temps is nice, the scaling is all off on this, at minimum they could have made the gradients customizable. And also the rgb is not a smooth color transition either, it jumps from one color to the next directly, in 1/2 to 2 second increments. It can only do a select few colors, I dont understand why they give so many options for color yet the rgb color bandwidth is probably only a few dozen colors.
Also in addition all the ports on the top of the unit are low quality, headphone jack fits loose and cuts out if bumped lightly, and using both usb ports can cause feedback errors in the devices plugged in to those ports.

I bought this PC about a week ago and it has been well worth the investment. It runs intensive games on high settings with ease and boots and turns off quickly. The PC itself looks very good and has plenty of USB ports.

Great Pre-Built Tower For Gaming and Streaming!
on January 18, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this tower! Admittedly I have not owned this for even a month yet so keep that in mind. Very easy set up; only had to plug in my monitor (not included with unit), webcam with built-in microphone (not included with unit), mouse, and keyboard to the tower. Then I plugged the unit and monitor into an outlet. Lastly I set up my wireless headphones for sound through the built-in Bluetooth once Windows 10 was properly installed through the initial set-up process.
The included mouse and keyboard have a nice basic, slim profile and are not clunky to use. No mousepad needed for the mouse which is common for most modern mice. It has the basic mouse layout of right click and left click with a scroll wheel. The scroll wheel is able to be pressed and helps with scrolling. Keyboard comes with a number pad and has little travel distance from pressing a key to confirming input. Thankfully it's very quiet but input does make some clicky noises so if you don't like that buy yourself a more quiet keyboard. No pretty lights or gizmos with the included mouse and keyboard. So if you want that you'll have to buy it separately.
This is my first real gaming/streaming rig and everything runs so smooth. I recommend keeping your C Drive as clean as possible for the best performance since this does come with a secondary HDD Drive. Only put stuff you want to run fast onto your C Drive like your streaming software (Streamlabs OBS, OBS, Stream Elements, etc.) and stuff like Steam and other things in your D Drive.
For a monitor I do use the HP X24i Gaming Monitor and it works great with this unit. Keep in mind there is only one HDMI port so a second monitor will need to work through the DisplayPort or old fashioned DVI-D port. This is fine for me but if you need more HDMI ports look for another tower.
The clear window on the left side of the unit makes the HyperX® 16 GB DDR4-2666 XMP RGB SDRAM and NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 2060 SUPER graphics card shine through and is very pretty. The diamond in the front also lights up and will pulse when your computer is in sleep mode. This tower is very brightly lit so if this is in a room you sleep in I recommend shutting down before bed or keep it in a dedicated room.
My only real issue with this computer is may not be the fault of this unit but of other things. My Bluetooth-connected headphones (Sennheiser HD 450BT) have a hands-free audio function and Microsoft's sound settings tend to not remember my preference of keeping that turned off and just use them as normal headphones. I tend to have to turn my headphones off and reconnect or even remove the device and re-pair it with my computer. This may be a problem with the headphones or Microsoft's not-so-great sound settings. For sound I recommend getting audio that plugs into the computer like speakers or wired earbuds/headphones. It's usually best for wired headphones to go through external speakers that have a headphone jack since my experience with going directly through a tower's headphone jack over the years has not been the best. Despite this I love this computer and will probably end up finding a better audio output solution for my needs.
As a certified COMPTIA A+ technician--in plain English: I'm certified to properly recommend computers and repair them--I say this is a great pre-built tower for those who don't have a ton of money or time to build one and especially for those who don't know how to build one. Pre-built towers like this are great for someone's first gaming rig since it's easy to set up and get to playing games. All games I've played on here from intensive Apex Legends to more simple games like Stardew Valley run great. I've been using this to stream games and illustration on Twitch and it runs very smooth even through using Wi-Fi. The price is very reasonable for this unit and HP is a great brand that has been around for decades. I was actually recommended this through a friend who streams Apex Legends quite often and was not disappointed. The specs and my personal experience with computers give this 5 stars as of this writing. Great stuff!
I would recommend this to a friend!
