A few elements on one side don't seem to be heating up like the others. They don't turn bright red. I have to flip the bread around midway through so both sides will brown evenly. Other than that it does what it is supposed to do - toasts bread and bagels, etc.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I received this toaster as a gift, and I could not be more pleased. The cancel button is a VERY good idea! I also love the lever that lifts the toast out of the toasting slot. Another fabulous idea! This works so well, and I am so happy to have a new toaster!
