works good so far .But if i put the knob past 2 of 7 selections it burns the toast. I can't imagine how you can use the higher number for anything without burning it too much.

We use 2 cycles to get toast done to our liking: 1 cycle at the darkest setting and 1 at maybe 1.5. But once we do that, the toast is perfect. Bagels only need 1 cycle at darkest setting, and come out fine. English muffins need 2 cycles, though I have never had a toaster that could do those properly on one cycle. Some might wish the slots were slightly longer to accommodate bread from double wide pan loaves, but we don't buy those, so that's not an issue for us.

My new toaster is wonderful! The two features I like the most are the “bagel setting” and the ability to toast wider slices. Love it! I hope it lasts 25 years like my old one!

I am disappointed with this toaster. It over browns one side of the bread and leaves the other side not toasted at all. We have it set on #2, just so the one side does not burn.

I am disappointed in the toaster. Definitely not usual fine Cuisinart quality. Toasts very unevenly, very brown on top, hardly anything in the middle, light on the bottom. Very surprised-usually LOVE Cuisinart products. But, it was very inexpensive and will do for a bit until I can get another toaster.
