Toaster works fine except the toaster slots need to be wider to accommodate fat bagels. The tops of bagels barely fit into the toaster which leaves the bagel only getting partially toasted

This toaster was identical to the one I had before. I used that one almost daily for almost 2 years. The new one is almost worthless. It only browns one side in one slot and browns at the top of the bread at the other slot. Consequently I have lost faith in your brand. Any countertop appliances I will be replacing will not be Cuisinart.

It is a very good toaster. I bought before it "Brentwood 2-slice Cool Touch Toaster (white & Stainless Steel), |Model: BTWTS292W. It stopped working over a week: didn't stay in heating position. So I was forced to find new. And i like this one.

1. Bagel setting is useless. It extends time and does not shut off one side.
2. Heater grids, while evenly spaced, don't toast evenly. A number of wire sections look like they were manually lifted away from the surface. These get hotter.
3. Even if toasting the same bread everyday you have to watch to prevent burnt toast.
4. The extra lift spring tension is too much and is able to lift the toaster off the counter before the bread gets lifted to the top.
5. I would give it five stars just for looks and design.
