The toaster I received (via Amazon) does not live up to its reputation. A slice of bread is only adequately toasted on one side: the side facing the middle of the toaster. The side facing outward comes out barely tan while that facing inward is okay. It is as if the "bagel" setting is active for a normal bread slice. The toaster is attractively priced, but could have better performance. I would not recommend this model.

Great item! It’s super easy to use and there’s lots of settings to choose from. Love the crumb tray that’s easy to pull out and empty. Would recommend this product. The first few toasts there was a weird burning smell but I think it was just the new appliance smell. It’s still good, don’t freak out.

The feature I like least about the toaster is the dial knob for how light or dark you want your toast to be. It has no tension on the knob which means it moves too easily. This should be something that is corrected going forward.

When I initially used the toaster it only toasted on one side, next try it toasted very lightly and I had the dial up to 7. I continued trying different approaches then after about 6 variations out of the blue it began toasting just right on dial 5. I think the elements needed to get self adjusted. I was frustrating and was ready to return it but decided to keep it.

I dislike the top of the toaster because it collects crumbs in the indent the whole way around where the bread slices go. How am I supposed to clean that out without unplugging it constantly and turning it upside down? It's not the best design for ease of cleaning. And why isn't the crumb tray accessible from the front instead of the back of the toaster? That's inconvenient, too. Also the sides tend to not toast evenly. In all fairness, this was purchased to replace a very old toaster that was my father-in-law's that finally bit the dust. We've had it for 12 years and have no idea how long he owned it before then, but it was definitely when things were made to last.
