Very difficult to control how much a slice is toasted. The control dial is very loose and I am not sure if actually changes the time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had this toaster for about a month now. I primarily chose this model because of its sleek design and the fact that it's a 4-slice toaster. It looks great on the counter and toasts evenly, which is exactly what you'd hope for.
However, I'm knocking off one star due to the loose and wobbly controls. Right out of the box, the dials felt imprecise and flimsy, which was disappointing for a toaster at this price point. I'm not sure if we just got a faulty unit or if this is a common issue with the model, but the build quality in that area doesn't match the overall aesthetic or the cost.
That said, it still works well and looks good—just wish the controls felt sturdier.

It worked just fine for about a week and then I could not get it to hold the down position. I had to hit it at least 8 to 9 times before it stayed and would start to toast. I emailed Cuisinart but received no reply. I still use it but would not recommend it. Mornings are bad enough but pushing that lever again and again is frustrating. Adding to the frustration is not hearing from them.
