This is what I expect from a toaster:
* Toast bread, bagels, and frozen waffles to the point of golden brown and crunchy.
This is what I got from the Cuisinart CPT-122:
* Bread: 2 stars. Impossible to find correct setting. 3, 2.5, and 2.25 are too dark. 2 is golden brown but not crunchy.
* Bagels: 1 star. (using Bagel button) Ran out of patience trying to find a setting that wasn't too dark.
* Frozen waffles: 0 stars. (using Defrost button) The best I could get was a mix of burnt and raw areas within the same waffle. Totally unacceptable!

I love this toaster. It is everything advertised - compact, multi function and toasts evenly on all of the settings and modes. This is the third toaster I tried after my old toaster finally died. The first two did not toast evenly and one even burnt the edges black on the second setting in addition to being flimsy feeling. Third time's the charm!

Great 2 slice toaster. Toast is even on both sides. In today’s world why buy an expensive toaster when they are built to last an average of 4-5 years. The advantage of this toaster, other than the obvious, being lightweight, is it doesn’t get hot while in use. We tried a couple brands but this Cuisinart was the winner.

We returned this after one week. It only toasted bread on one side. The button you push down to activate the toaster was flimsy and had to be pushed down multiple times before catching. Very disappointed considering the reputation of this brand.

This is a mediocre toaster with uneven toasting and shallow slots; I was expecting much better quality from Cuisinart. Too few heating wires and the ones it does have don't all get red, so the toast comes out uneven. It is not rocket science - get your schtuff together!

This toaster is a game changer . It fits in a small space on my countertop & has a sleek , modern design. It works efficiently, quickly & consistently & provides perfectly toasted bread, bagels, & anything else that you can toast. The defrost setting allows us to enjoy even frozen bread, pancakes or waffles by quickly warming up these delicious treats. It has 7 heat settings so you adjust it based on what you want to toast & to what extent. I highly recommend this cuisinart 2 slice compact toaster.

This toaster is on the more afforadable side but it has everything you need on a toaster. Sure it doesnt feel as strong as other toasters but since when are you throwing toasters around? It toasts evenly and well, far better then the other toasters we have had. It also is easier to clean then the others which for me is a HUGE plus. Overall solid product would buy again. Has an odd smell for the first 2 uses but fades quickly, just run it twice without food to get rid of it. 4/5
